I’m planning to pay a one lump some in January for annual dues. How early in advance will they allow me to pay?

I usually pay in December. I might have paid as early as November too. You will have a credit on your account.

The actual bills show up after they are approved at the DVC condo meeting in early December.

Prior to that , you can go online and pay on your account and it sits as a credit until payments are actually accepted starting when the bills actually post in December.

I paid part in November last year. My grocery store had a fuel perks promo for gift cards and I bought some. I didn’t want them sitting around so I went in and applied to my account. I have BWV and VGC contracts. My VGC is smaller and I applied it to that contract. When they processed the bills in December, they ended up splitting the credit. Really no big deal but I wanted to pay VGC off early. I’ve been buying a $100 card every month or so to get perks.

We pay ours year-round since we opted for monthly auto-deduction.

By far simpler, we think. One less year's end thing to get done.

As many PP have said, you can pre-pay dues and they will sit as a credit on your account. Just keep in mind that they are not refundable and if you ever had to sell a contract, that credit goes with the contract. I found this out when a credit appeared on my account and I called DVC Accounting to ask why. They said the previous owner had pre-paid some dues and those credits were transferred to me along with the contract.

I have 30 or so contracts. I always pay the dues on contract 0. It then just gets allocated across at the end of the year.

So as long as you are in credit with one contract you are not going to sell for a year - its fine.
