Hi all-

First, I want to say thank you all for such a great wealth of information! I have lurked for several months and learned so much. Now we are 33 days away from our trip!

We are staying one night at BC and then moving to our timeshare at Vistana for 7 nights. One of those nights we are having dinner at Chef Mickey's. How early can we come and park in the Contemporary parking lot? Can we park there around noon, catch the monorail to MK, spend the afternoon there and them come back and have dinner at Chef Mickey's?

Again, thank you all!

Probably not. If you were going to Chef Mickey's first you would be OK.

When you get to the Contemporary, the guard will ask for your reservation number and then give you a parking pass good for three hours.

We eat at Chef Mickey's every trip. We've never had the guard ask for our name or reservation number. Maybe that's because we stay onsite and go during the slow season.

The only place we've ever been given a parking pass was at the Poly.

During xmas week last year we had no problem parking at Contemp and we did not have ps. Guard stopped us but we told him we were going to try to eat at food 'n fun and use the arcade. We did not get any time limited parking pass. I was very surprised because we have always had to give a ps# to park at Poly and have been given the 3 hour parking pass. Even with the 3 hour pass, we self-parked and did go to MK and it was longer than 3 hours. They do try to discourage people just trying to park there for MK, but we had dinner at Poly and then went to MK for a while. I don't think they have a way of checking if you go beyond the 3 hours, unless you valet. and even then, I don't know what they would do if you returned beyond the 3 hours.

If you pay for valet parking, there is no time limit. If not, I believe it would be inconsiderate to take up parking space all day while you go to the MK. Those guests paying to stay at the CR (or Poly) should not have to compete for parking with those staying elsewhere. Just my 2 cents.

At the AKL, they issue 3 hour parking passes to dine at Jiko or Boma's. I would be surprised is they do not have a similar setup at the CR.

The good thing is that you have several options open to you if they do make you move your car. You can always park at the TTC lots and still make use of the resort monorail to get to dinner. I would say if they don't make you move it, consider yourself lucky and take advantage of it.

We eat at Chef Mickey's at least once every trip, and I've never had them ask for any info. They've asked to see my Drivers License once or twice, but that was it...never asked for our PS #, been giving a parking pass, etc. I'm not saying whether or not you should park there early, ;) just letting you know how it's been for us! :teeth:

At our most recent trip in MArch and our trip this past Nov., they do ask and did ask for name and resev. infor and then gave you a 3 hr pass for parking. I don't know the rules if you valet park. Why not consider parking at TTC spending the day at MK and then taking the monorail to Chef MIckey and then the monorail back to TTC. Have fun and enjoy chef Mickey---we love it there.

I think it depends on the time of year and how busy the resorts are. I agree that taking up a parking spot at CR for a day at MK would be inconsiderate.

However if you valet park then you can certainly make a trip to MK and then back to CR for dinner at CM.

I don't think they have a way of checking if you go beyond the 3 hours, unless you valet.

All they have to do is take down license plate number and time in. I don't think they do it but could if they wanted to.

Give me a laptop, spreadsheet and the know how to sort and it is a piece of cake. The hard part is riding up and down lanes, and a good memory or the chalk trick to pick the cars to check.

Hey, that's it, hire a retired meter maid.
