I know the rooms don't have to be ready until after 3:00 but how early are you allowed to check in? Would I be able to check in at 6:00 a.m.?

I don't think it would be a problem to check in that early, but what will you do that early in the morning? I don't think the restaurants open until at least 7am and you'll be 2-3 hours away from a park opening. You may get really lucky if you're going in the off season and be able to get into a room, but I guess I'm just wondering why/how you'll be there so early in the am?

I'm doing a split stay as a surprise to my family...I want to sneak over and get checked in early without them knowing so I can still get back to the WL in time for us to leave at 7:00 for CRT...then after CRT I am going to make an excuse to run back to the WL while they are in the park so I can check out of the WL and get our bags picked up:)

Sneaky girl BeccaGrace. Will you have your own car? If not, you might want to check on transportation options that early in the morning.

Just FYI, as I was very rudely informed a few weeks ago by a Pop Century supervisor, rooms at disney DO NOT have to be ready at 3. He informed me (and many people on this board have confirmed that he is correct), that CHECK IN is at 3, but check in and actually getting a room are two separate events. I was told it could be 5 pm before we were given a room, maybe later. We checked in at 1:15, and decided to wait for the 3 pm 'guaranteed checkin' (the cm told us it would be ready at or before 3). At 3:30 I was told that this is NOT the policy when I asked for a supervisor.

I just wanted to make sure you knew that. I was led to believe that EVERYONE knew this except for me, so I wanted to give you a heads up. Our trip was wonderful, but it started off very sour because of the checkin mixups.

Staci, All of my confirmations state that check in is AFTER 3pm. Not at or before 3pm but AFTER. There is never any guarantee that it will be a certain time though they do shoot for 3pm.

Becca you can check in as early as 6am. You most likely won't get a room then but you will get keys to your room and a phone number. You can call that number throughout the day from the parks or resorts and that is the front desk at the Poly. They will let you know if your room is ready and what room number it is.They will not deliver the luggage to your room though unless you are in the room. So when you get to your room just give a call down to luggage service and they will bring it up to you. Don't expect your room to be ready before 5pm and you won't be disappointed.

Thanks everyone!!! That actually works perfectly because our plan for the day is for me to sneak over to the Poly (via cab! It all seems so glamorous & 007 like!) and back to the WL to head over to MK for our 8:10 CRT ressies. Then I am going to sneak back to the WL--get our bags picked up & check out. I will then return to the MK and we are spending the day/afternoon there until our dinner ADR at Concourse. Then I am either going to suggest looking at Christmas decorations at the resorts or just put them on the monorail (my mom & dh have never stayed on property so they have no clue that getting on the monorail is the wrong way to go to the WL :rotfl: ) and get off at the Poly. I'm wondering how long it will take them to wonder what I am doing until I get to the room and put the key in the door :p
This is going to be fun:)

I actually just had a better idea....
Forget my first plan...rather than going over that early I may just go to breakfast then take the monorail to the Poly & check in THEN take the cab to the WL (to save time), get our stuff together and picked up and check out...then head back to the MK. Now to come up with an excuse that will allow me to disappear that long. Maybe I'll tell them there is a DIS meet that I want to go to (since they know I'm always on here)!!!!!
I am too excited--45 days!!!!
