How does your family dress for any family holiday get-togethers?

I think you hit the nail on the head. What is considered "family holiday dinner" is different for everyone on this board. Family holiday dinners for us do not include china, crystal and silver--not sure any of us even own crystal and silver:rolleyes1. Family holiday dinner for us means family will be there and we will be eating dinner (or lunch, or supper, or just appetizer/finger foods).

We don't wear pajamas though. Except on Christmas Eve, the kids change into their pj's before we leave because it's usually late and they got straight to bed when they get home.:santa:

ETA: And that Christmas picture with the swimmers and their ribbons on the tree. That is HILARIOUS!

.....sooooo, I wonder if THEY use their 'good china and crystal'......

This one has always driven me crazy. I grew up in a family that would wear business casual type clothes for most get togethers and nicer clothes on some occasions. DW came from the find some jeans with no holes in them crowd. 15 years later I think that we've settled somewhere in the middle. She's broken me down to nice jeans and a nice shirt and I've gotten nice shirts on her and the kids...Though if I had my way, we'd all be dressing nicer.

The bolded part. And if they're not awkward holes, it's still OK. And a t-shirt with a Christmas theme if one is clean. As often as not, it's shorts instead of jeans, too, since there's absolutely no correlation between Christmas and cool weather around here.
