I think you hit the nail on the head. What is considered "family holiday dinner" is different for everyone on this board. Family holiday dinners for us do not include china, crystal and silver--not sure any of us even own crystal and silver. Family holiday dinner for us means family will be there and we will be eating dinner (or lunch, or supper, or just appetizer/finger foods).
We don't wear pajamas though. Except on Christmas Eve, the kids change into their pj's before we leave because it's usually late and they got straight to bed when they get home.
ETA: And that Christmas picture with the swimmers and their ribbons on the tree. That is HILARIOUS!
.....sooooo, I wonder if THEY use their 'good china and crystal'......
