How does your dh handle your obsession....

My DH will bust my chops about my disney obsession and he does'nt know the half of it, I'm on the disboards more than he knows and I've always got a trip or two going in mind, but I don't discuss it with him till I know I can actually plan it. But he says I could have worse addictions so it's not so bad. I did hear DH talking on the phone to a friend saying I guess we are getting one last trip in this year, I'm just getting started. Although he did say he would like to try universal so that's fine with me it gets me in Orlando and he knows I could'nt get that close and not go to disney. And he loves the beach so I throw that in as well and some good restaurants and warm weather and before he knows it he is right there with me. :rotfl:

DH is as obsesses as I am. As soon as we return from a trip if we have an idea of when we want to go again, he's on the computer checking out rates.
He also always asks me what's new on the Disboards!
Of course, this trip we're meeting up with another family in Dinsey. DH grew up with the guy. And we're getting together to plan some TS meals for our trip. DH will act all cool now in front of his friend:cool1: and pretend he's not all obsessed about it. :rolleyes1
What they don't know is that his daily reading material right now consists of the Passporter, the Unofficial Guide and Birnbaum's book!

I reject the sexism implied in your question.

Is Disney and DISing reserved for women only?

No its not for women only but since i am a woman i was asking from a womans point of view thats all . this question was not meant to offend anyone and if i have i am sorry!!!

Its just a question.:confused3

Hubby will decide to get involved - he'll spend 30 minutes on the computer and come up with what he thinks is the best plan. I know I should be happy that he want to be involved a little, but come on!! How about the countless times I've asked for his opinion!?!?!?! He just wants to swoop in at the end and get the glory!

That probably sounds petty, but it drives me nuts!!!

This is my hubby...about ALL things that take planning, not just WDW...and it is SO annoying!!!

:headache:

Our 1st trip, he did not want to talk about anything and accused me of "sucking the fun out of WDW".... Is that even possible???

Anyway, when we got home he had to eat his words and he is much more interested in talking about our trip this time around! ;)

he says I seriously need mental help

:rotfl2::rotfl2: :rotfl2: This sounds just like my DH. We've been back for 7 days and I'm already talking about going in the fall(if they offer free dining) or next January and he's looking at me like I'm insane !

We are going this fall, and in January... my hubby suggested it! :lmao:

I have been crazy about Disney for 35 years. DH wasn't aware of this when we married. He didn't even realize it knowing that I kept my Minnie from 1977 and that I had pretty much every video made. That people were giving me Disney characters for Christmas, etc.

I keep asking him to go with DD and myself. He won't. This summer is my third trip since marriage. Well after being together for 7 years I finally said something to him last night. I was digging through old pics, found some of me at Disney back in 96 with an old boyfriend. Said to DH "See he came with me and had fun".

He just ignores it is how he handles it. Maybe one day he will come.......

Well my DH does this :confused3 and then :headache: & and then in the weekend when I am rambiling [he used this word] about fridge swaps and lime looks he does :coffee: but most of the time he thinks I am :dance3: NUTS!!!

My DH just ignores my obsession!!! Everytime I am on the computer, he says "You are surfing those DIS boards again, aren't you?". He says nothing more because no matter what he says it won't change my love for Disney! My kids love it as much as I do, but my DH can take it or leave it. He lets me do all the planning and tells me "Just tell me when I need to be there". I am hoping I can convert him eventually, but until then, I guess I will be the crazy one!!:dance3:

My husband isn't obsessed with planning like I am, but he does see the importance of planning. He's excited about going and everything, just not on the level that I am! :goodvibes

HA!! My DH says the SAME THING!!!!
"Oh your on the disboards again, can't we watch TV or something??"

I hear that every night!:surfweb:

My husband frustrates me. Whenever I try to show him anything or ask for his input, his eyes just glaze over and he says "You're the expert - whatever you think is best. I trust you."

Yep, I hear that too!

I have my Disney and he has his Football. :) We have each learned to enjoy each other's obession!

Dh is the same with Pitt Peguins!! He even has updates about the Pen sent to his cell phone!! Come on, Disney doesn't even do that!! :sad2:

Currently my DH simply indulges me in my hour upon end need to plan every little detail for our upcoming trip, constantly surfing the boards, getting ridemax, even getting a binder to put all of my planning stuff in along with my passporter...but I digress. I blame his lack of Disney spirit on the fact he hasn't been to Disneyland in thirteen years, and only the one time, so now that I've informed him we're upgrading to AP's this trip he's just like "whatever" but I think he will change his tune once he sees how our kids react to all of the magic! :cloud9:

DH doesn't mind me too much. I'm not THAT obessed. His mother is OBESSED with Disney. Their Christmas decorations were nothing BUT Disney. They even had the three wisemen: Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. :lmao: My MIL also collects everything Mickey. My DH doesn't mind that I'm into Disney...as long as it's not like his mom!!!! DH prefers WB cartoons, but when it comes to amusement parks and loves WDW!!!!

My husband is a member of the " smile and nod " club. I talk and he just smiles and nods until I am done. He and the girls love the output of my planning, but they only get involved when asked where they want to eat on certain nights. Not that they don't like WDW, they just let me plan.

My DH has never been to Disney!!! In fact, he's only been to two amusement parks his whole life! (our state's junky, small one once when he was a kid and once last year: conclusion: "we will never go again!" and a couple of years ago when we took our girls to Silver Dollar City in Branson.) I've made him sit through both of the planning dvds, and he's fallen asleep during both of them. He really has no clue what to expect so it's difficult getting him excited about it. He pretends to have interest in it, for ny sake. I just hope that our trip will be as magical for him as it will be for me and our girls! :wizard:

with disney?? I dont think my dh would go to disney so many time a year. we do get to go next year and i am trying to decide where to stay this time for more for the kids. He will not talk about anything until next JUNE. He say its to early to talk about it. So i have to come here.:grouphug: There will be other family members going and they dont understand why i am planning so early. When they see all the work i done they will appreciate next year when we go. Tell me your story.
Mine is doing a better job than I thought he would. We go to WDW every year (in the value season ofcourse LOL). Than when the grandkids turn four years old we take them to DL (that was actually his idea.). I think he thought it might keep us from WDW but it didn't work. LOL This last trip I actually put a LGMH on his fanny pack. He asked what I was doing to him while shaking his head. I think if he would admit it he loves it almost as much as me. LOL
He has mentioned a few times that I might need serious help. We both turned 50 this year and people are always asking us if we really ride the rides. We tell them ofcourse we aren't old yet. You have to remember that a lot of people havent discovered the magic yet, how sad?
He even bought me disney stock for Christmas this year? He is coming along just fine.
I should mention I do call him Eeyore because I swear they are related. I even put an Eeyore antenna head on his Tahoe. He doesn't understand why he needs it on while he is hunting, fishing and camping. LOL

He thinks I am spending too much time "planning" and that it is not worth it. He is starting to get an attitude when I am on the computer!

I hope the he gets some pixie dust soon, because he is being a pain!

My Dw has me a Disney lover, isn't that good for her.

The first couple of trips we made my dh didn't understand the need for all the planning but he gets it now. We have made 4 trips to WDW and too many trips to DL to count. Our last couple of trips he actually asks me how the planning is coming along and are our PS arranged? LOL I told him a few years ago that if we were going to spend money on a super nice trip shouldn't we get the most out of it. Money talks. LOL enjoy and don't stop planning.
