Just curious. DS has resies for Oct. at POR and if they close down for renovations I wonder what they'll offer the family to move, if anything.

They might. But I dont think POR is closing all of the rooms. Rumors have it that they will close in sections.

This very thing happened to me. It was our very first trip to Disney as well. Made reservations at Carribbean Beach and they closed for renovations. I was freaking out:worried:

Called reservations and they ended up giving us an upgrade to the Polynesian!!! For a very, very low price that is!

Pro: Our very first trip to the World we got to stay in a deluxe resort close to the Magic Kingdom.

Con: I'm starting to plan our second trip back and I don't want to stay anywhere else but another deluxe resort!;)

Enjoy your trip!

:wave2:

When POFQ closed for renovations, I believed they moved people with existing reservations to other moderates, or they offered upgrades for very low rates. :)

We were to stay at POFQ last June and we were upgraded to AKL for $20 more per night. I already had a reduced rate due to a postcard mailed to us so it was a once in a lifetime price that's for sure!! Disney knew what they were doing though...we won't stay any where but AKL now :)
