how does waitlist work to buy BCV points?

put on a list and when/if something opens up they call to inform us?
do we then have time to buy or not buy?
the cost for these pts is whatever new pts are going for at the time?
how long does it usually take for pts to open up?

I just went on the waitlist for add-on points Thursday for BCV. My guide said the earliest he has seen the waitlist come through lately has been 7 months and went up to 2 years. They will put a $500 hold on your credit card until the points come through. He also mentioned that DVC is looking into "grandfathering" in people on the waitlist. Basically, you would be locked into the rate at the time you went on the waitlist. BUT I want to add that this has NOT happened yet. It is just something DVC is "looking into" since they have never had so many people on the waitlist as they do now.

Yes...when your place on the list comes up for the amount of points you're looking for, they will call to inform you

I'm sure they'll give you a time limit and if you're not interested, they'll move to offer to the next person on the list.

I believe so, yes.

how long does it usually take for pts to open up?

Not sure ...there's quite a long list from what I hear. I'm sure it will have to do with where you are on the list and how many points you're looking for and what comes in that they have to offer.
