DH and I are planning on leaving early Sunday morning and driving the 14 hrs to Anaheim that day. We're staying at the Tropicana starting Sun. night, and checking out Thursday April 7th.
We have 3-day PH passes (Armed Forces Salute, so no MM). We plan on getting these tickets when we get there. Sunday night if the booths are still open when we get there, Monday if not. Both the local ITT office and DL Ticket office confirmed we can purchase the military tickets at the gate.
Sunday night, after we arrive, we're planning on just settling into the hotel and walking around DTD (assuming it's open when we get there)
Monday - probably spending the day at DLR
- park hours are 8am - 12am. We'll plan on getting there sometime between 7:30 and 8
- lunch will be (probably) Carnation Cafe
- dinner will likely be counter service (we have a list of counter service we'd like to try, depending on where in the park we are when we get hungry)
- we'll plan to see MM&Y at 8:45 (how long does this last?)
- after that I'm thinking one of 2 things:
1 - Sticking around the HUB for the fireworks, and then walking over to find a spot for the second showing of Fantasmic OR
2 - heading over to Frontierland/NOS - ride HM or POTC during the first Fantasmic, and once F! is over, securing seats for the second showing (10:30) and watching RDTC from there*
- stick around til close, probably til Main Street closes (we love the park as it empties out)
*We've seen RDTC a lot, so we're OK with taking the chance of not seeing it from the HUB**
Tuesday -
- DLR is open at 8am, so we'll probably head there first just for a little bit and head over to DCA for the "unofficial" 9:30 opening.
- Hit Soarin' during that 9:30-10am time frame, and then head back for TSMM
- throughout the day we'll hit Aladdin
- lunch will probably be Lucky Fortune, Pacific Wharf, or Taste Pilot's Grill
- We have 6:20pm reservations for AG, with the WOC dining package (for the first viewing of WOC)
- first viewing of WOC @ 9pm
- once DCA closes, head back over to DLR for the night
Wednesday-
- DLR is open at 8am, so head there and enjoy teh day finishing any rides we didn't get to on Monday, or re-riding rides.
- lunch and dinner will probably be counter service (we just got some really great news about DH's new job, so we may try table service if we can agree on a restaurant and get seated
)
- possibly the MM&Y again (either showing)
- RDTC at 9:30
- closing out the park, for sure, since it's our last night there and since we're moving to the east coast, we won't be back for a long time. We're trying to get teh family to take my nephews to WDW next year :earboy:
We're not really planning our order of the rides and such, and we'll probably make an effort to see characters and experience some of the "streetmosphere" type events, like the bands and random performances around the park. We're pretty laid back about going around each day once we're there, and we'll absolutely be adaptable (expectation wise) once we see what the crowds are like. I don't think we'll have a problem getting to do most of what we'd like though.
So...thoughts? Is Monday night a little too ambitious? Should we forgo MM&Y that night, and leave it til Wed? Thanks!
