Hey everyone... just need some validation as my husband is not at all interested in this planning stuff. Go figure.
We are planning a trip Feb 18-25, 2012 so I am in crunch time now. I need to get a ressie on the books.
Cast members at time of trip are 2 adults and 5 kids (9, 9, 6, 3, and 1). Our options are limited budgetary wise and size wise.
To add to it- this is President's Day week and also Mardi Gras week (we are in Alabama and actually get the whole week off from school). My husband is a high school administrator and I am a teacher (although currently unemployed) so this is another reason why we have picked this week- no off time during regular school schedule.
To make matters more pressing... the weekend of Feb 24, 25, and 26 is the Disney half marathon.
I have thought about running it but that's another matter entirely. I KNOW this is going to be a hugely packed time at Disney but unfortunately our travel time has to be this week.
Here is what I have planned, although I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.
Book a cabin at FW (because of the full kitchen vs the kitchenette at ASM) and hope for free dining or some other promotion (am I dreaming b/c of this busy week and the festivities Disney has planned at this time?!?).
If no promotion opens up- I can either get a refund on my $200 deposit and find a place off site or just suck it up, pay the over $4k and cook as many meals as I can in the room.
This is our first trip to the World and I want it to be the best for my kids (just like everyone else does).
Please friends- give me some reassurance on this plan b/c I'm scared if I wait much longer I won't have any place to stay!!!
