How does the Shareholder thing work?

The postman delivered my DD's card today!! She is now one very happy bunny! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Yay! My card has arrived too! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I think a trip to the Disney shope sale may be in order to celebrate... I think it would be rude not to, right? :rolleyes1

Just wanted to ask how long after receiving email confirmation of acceptance you all waited for your card to arrive?

I got my email about 3 1/2 weeks ago and was hoping my card would have arrived by now - although we are not going until November so no real hurry.

Is it worth emailing them about it or am I just being very impatient?

Hi guys.

Thanks for all your great advice on this thread. I've now joined the shareholders club and thought I'd add my experience too. We're traveling to DLP in early August so I hoped I be able to join in time. In the end it took just 8 days.

I already had a Halifax online login so I was able to sign up for the share dealing account and buy shares pretty much straight away. So I signed up for the account and bought 21 shares on the 6th July for £85ish including £17.50 fees.

I received confirmation of purchase a couple of hours later and printed off my contract note. I took this into my local Halifax brance and they stamped it for me, which I then scanned in and emailed off to disney on the 8th, mentioning that we were travelling in the next couple of weeks and asking for a temporary certificate. Confirmation of my membership arrived the next morning, and the postman delivered a temporary certificate on the 14th.

It would be nice to get the proper card before we travel, but it doesn't matter if not as the temporary cetificate is valid unitl September.

So thank you all for your help, I was only able to get this sorted so quickly by following your great advice.

Now all we need to do is make the most of the discounts (and enjoy the knowledge that we own a part of Disney :yay:).

Speaking of which, what food places can you use the card in? is it just the retaurants or do the fast food places offer the discount as well?

you can't use your shareholders for counter-service (fast food) restaurants n DLP, but you can use your card at table and buffet service restaurants, and the shops, and if you fancy a morning snack, your card gives you exclusive access to Salon Mickey in the main park, where you can have complimentary pastries/cookies etc and hot and cold drinks.
 
On the membership form I'm confused - it asks "what type of shareholder are you?" and lists:

- Administered Registered
- Bearer
- I don't know
- Pure Registered


What is the answer?!! Thanks!
 
I just put "I don't know" on mine - it didn't delay anything.
 
Hi all, first post though I've been lurking a long time.

Can anyone tell me if you can buy shares from Ireland and if so, how do you go about doing it?

We're off to DLP in October for 4th time in 4 years, with a trip to WDW last year as well, so I think we're in this for the long haul :-D

My card arrived yesterday (confirmation e-mail was 6/22). My reaction progressed somewhat in this fashion:

Then: :worship: as I thanked the Disney gods that the card arrived before my trip. Now to add the logo to all my signatures.
 
Just a little question:

I´ve used these email for sending in my membership form and proof of position as a shareholder :

dlp.actionnaires@disney.com

Will it work or only by regular mail or fax ?

Help!!! I filled in the online form but my computer crashed before I could print out the pdf. Is there anyway I can find another copy to print off?:confused3

To answer your question ~ no, only the actual shareholder can be the member but your wife and children will be able to enter Salon Mickey with you as your guests (you can take up to 4 family members or 3 friends as guests) and will also be able to benefit from the other perks such as tickets, dining and shopping discounts etc provided you are present and paying.
