Hi.
I was wondering how the FD plan works,
How do servers know you are on the FD Plan?
At the end of a meal does the server charge your Room Key and
at the end of you stay at WDW all of the Dining Cost
are then taken off of your Bill???

The servers don't know (nor care) whether you're on the free dining promotion or rather just paid for the Dining Plan. There is and should be no difference in your experience.

You do need to tell your server when you're ordering whether you're on the Dining Plan or not (again: free or paid -- it doesn't matter and you don't need to indicate which) so they can draw up your bill correctly. Dining Plan bills needs to be rung up separately from bills for meals paid for out-of-pocket.

Whether you paid for the dining plan or it is free makes no difference. At check in they will put the number of snacks, CS, and TS/ person/ night onto your room key.

When you eat at a restaurant you let them know you are on the dining plan. At the end of your meal they will deduct the amount of TS from the remaining balance. Your receipt will show you the remaining balance at the bottom. You will then sign one of the checks and VOILA! you are done.

For example - a family of 4 is eating at Chef Mickey's their first night during their 6 night stay. So in general that would give you 24 table services credits all together. At the end of the meal you give them your room key card and they deduct 4 TS from your card. You would then have a balance of 20 TS which would be written at the bottom of the receipt. Sign it and your free to go....

Hope this helps.....the dining plan seems confusing...but once you do it one time it's easy... :thumbsup2
