How does the Disney rewards work?

I have a disney visa and I am wondering how to use the reward points I have.

If I were to shop at a disney store do I have them scan my credit card and they look my points up and use them that way? That is how our cabela's visa works...

Also, how would I use it for hotel or park tickets?

When you decide you want to use your points for a purchase, you call the 1-800 number on the back of your card to request a rewards card, which is a separate card from your visa. They load your rewards onto this card. Once you have this card you can use it for purchases.

The previous poster answered the question but I'll just add that it is very easy to do. You can also add more to it should you gain more points in the future (before it expires). You do have a limited time to be able to spend it but it is very convenient. Great way to have extra spending money at Disney World!

You can also request a rewards cards with "value" online. Go to the credit card website, it'll show your balance.
You have to have a minimum of 20 reward dollars to get a rewards card. I've used mine at the food court at POP, at most kiosks( some didn't) in the parks and at the checkout desk for my remaining balance.

I'm at 500 reward dollars right now awaiting next years WDW vacation

I have used our points to pay for our hotel and tickets. Every time I have used it though I did book our vaction through Disney.

Once you request a card through Chase it is only good for I think a couple of years so if you transfer points you want to use them before the card expires. Once you have a card you can transfer your points on the chase website if you acrua more after your initial transfer request.

I have also used it to pay for some sourveniors at the Magic Kingdom though there are only certain stores that will accepts it.
