How does T-Rex priority seating work?

Okay, so I’ve got priority seating at T-Rex. It’s for a busy week so I expect there to be a lot of people waiting in line to get a walk up seat. Everytime we have walked by T-Rex the line has been ridiculously long. If we have ADR’s do we still have to wait in that line, or is there another line we can walk up to? It’s got to be a 30 minute wait at times just to get to the front of that line.

I have eaten at T-Rex both with ADR's and without. In my experience, you have to wait in the first line to check in for your ADR, then they give you a seating time and buzzer. Once your buzzer goes off, you then must wait in another line to be seated.

A T-Rex associate told me(but this was awhile ago) that they only take about 40% ADR's and leave the rest for walk ups.

Each time I have dined there, I have had to wait in lines and it has been chaotic.

Is priority seating different than an ADR? Oh, is it priority seating that is similar to what is offered at RFC??

We have an ADR for 11:00am which I believe is right when it opens. I hope there will not be a crazy line already, we planned to have an early lunch and then head to one of the parks that day.

We experienced the same problem. During busier times, there is normally an outside desk to check in for reservations, and the inside desk with the long line for walk-ups.

During slower times when only one desk is used, they are supposed to check the line periodically for those with reservations. Unfortunately, it doesn't always happen - you might need to have one of the less timid members of your party walk to the front of the line and ask "excuse me, where do we check in for our reservation?"

Because we had to wait in the long line, I made it a point to ask a manager about the situation after we were seated, and were told that if no one checks the line for reservations, it's OK to step up to the front and ask.

T-Rex "priority seating" apparently works the same way as Disney "advance reservations." Once you've checked in you get the next table to open up that will fit your party. A table is not held open until your party arrives.

Whatever RFC does it is likely the same - T-Rex and RFC are run by the same company.
