How does Santa leave your gifts?

When I was growing up, Santa always had everything set up for us and unwrapped. I remember how awesome it was coming into the living room to see all of these toys/stuff set up and out with the tree lights sparkling off of it. We continue this tradition today and set everything up so it is out when the kids come down. A friend was saying that they just wrap Santa gifts and put them under the tree that way. What do you do?

Santa sets up the gifts under the tree and the presents from mom and dad and everyone else are wrapped nicely


I always remember it being so fun to get to see those gifts first thing!

Santa's gifts to us were always wrapped! I've never heard of setting them up!??

Ours are wrapped and under the tree, of course there are soooo many that they spill to the middle of of floor

Our kids have always had a dedicated place Santa left their specific gifts - unwrapped. DD is the sofa; DS the chair.

Anything unwrapped under the tree is for the family as a whole.

Mom and Dad gifts are wrapped.

And the stockings are hanging on the fireplace full.

One gift is left under the tree in their room.

Every once in a while when someone has ticked Santa off they have to go look for their presents! Usually under a different tree in the house! LOL!

We wrap them.

I don't think that's "boring". I love seeing her face when she see's the tree full of gifts. She get's so excited & doesn't know where to start.

I always make my poll choices a little comical. That is why I put the next to them. I don't think a present is boring no matter how presented...unless it is something that is on the "worst gift" thread.

Our Santa actually does half & half! Big presents like my DS's Rescue Hero Base are set up, but smaller presents like gameboy games are wrapped.

Warning to all you wrappers...

My parents didn't wrap stuff but my mom did put a tag on the biggest item. The year I found out there was no Santa (I was about 6) was the year I recognized my moms handwriting on the tag. Sooooo, disguise your handwriting!!

Well, my parents used to wrap ours. Dh and I leave the gifts from Santa unwrapped and put together.

Always wrapped. Never heard of the unwrapped either. Unwrapping is half the fun....I think.

Well, for DD she will have about 10 other gifts to unwrap. I think that will be enough! LOL! Plus I wanted her kitchen to be put together so she doesn't have to wait for Daddy to figure it out on Christmas morning! Kind of hard to wrap it after it is together. I will probably put ribbons and tags on them though.

Our Santa doesn't set them up, but he doesn't wrap them either. Santa leaves them under the tree unwrapped!

Always wrapped. I never heard of unwrapped Christmas gifts until I started reading the DIS. It seems like it would be overwhelming to see everything at once. Sure would make things easier tho, as far as not having to do all that wrapping.

Santa doesn't leave gifts in our house. Gifts are in honor of the Kristkind. And we don't give many. Really just token gifts. But we give gifts to each other for no reason at all the rest of the year because we love each other.
Today my daughter gave me a pair of Oscar the Grouch slippers she got and didn't fit her. I needed warm slippers so instead of returning them she gave them to me. Sweet kid.
