How does Rivers of Light compare to Jungle Book Alive with Magic

For those that have seen both ROL and the first Jungle Book Alive with Magic, how similar and/or different are the two? We're planning on being at AK in June and are thinking about going to see Rivers of Light, and possibly using a fastpass + for it. We did see Jungle Book Alive with Magic in the summer of 2016 when it first debuted. I am just curious if RoL is work using one of the first 3 fastpasses or is more of a wait in the standby line type of experience, and hope to get a 4th FP for the Na'vi River Journey. Also was wonder how different RoL is compared the to the Jungle Book show. Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but I can't find anything in search.

We were there this week, very busy spring break/Easter.

ROL FP+ was available each day (day of and later) for different times as well as the ROL Dining package.

Only because the singers in Jungle Book were outstanding, I would give Jungle Book a slight edge in the "less boring" category.

Jungle Book is better by far. The performers made the show. ROL was such a let down in comparison.

Didn't see ROL yet, but Jungle Book was incredibly bad. The entire family wished we skipped that one.

IMO, they are about the same. We saw both ROL and JB and they are quite similar. We were expecting a much bigger show for ROL but it was about the same. Both are nice shows to enjoy once or twice, but we didn’t even bother with ROL last week. We rode EE six times instead during the later show. That last 1.5 hours in the park without crowds was worth missing ROL (and I’m usually a big fan of Disney shows).

ROL came up many times as a same day fastpass, but it wasn’t even necessary for the later show. I don’t think it even filled.

We enjoyed watching bits of the show from our seats on EE.

These are two different types of shows. Jungle book was a dance performance with live singers. Each song had a "dance personality" - the live drumming was amazing. The backdrop of a curtain of water with projected images. Rivers of Light is a storytelling experience using very large props on water. It's almost like a creation-myth type of storytelling. I enjoyed both for their unique experience. If I had to choose, I would choose the live drumming, singing and dancing over giant moving props.

I enjoyed making RoL a part, but not a central part, of my evening AK experience. We also loved the live park music and the Awakenings at the Tree of Life. RoL was a nice respite after walking most of the day.

Jungle Book is known in my traveling party as “JB: Alive but Tragic.” We saw it one of the first nights and it was an absolute trainwreck. I’ve never seen an audience look so puzzled.

RoL is, IMO, better. I happen to really love the stained glass animals. But I still wouldn’t wait long for it... and I wouldn’t waste a first three FP for sure.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I think, for now, I will keep my current FP for now, and see if we can get ROL as a 4th or 5th option. Sounds like it may even be possible to wait for standby and get in to see it as well.
