how does renting points work?????? help!

hi. i may want to rent some of our points that must be used by january 2002. i know that the rent/trade board is available, but exactly HOW TO I DO IT? do i may a reservation with my name and point value and then call back later and have it transferred or what?

also, how much do people charge per point?
