I'm confused about this...are there set places in the parks to take pictures, with a CM at each location taking the pictures? I keep seeing so many great pictures with everyone in the group in the picture...so who is taking the picture? And how do you buy the Photopass pictures? Can you buy just some of them or do you have to buy them all?

I'm lost! :confused3

Thanks!

I was wondering this too. Thanks for asking:goodvibes

Hello? Does anyone know :confused3

There are different spots at the different theme parks, where a cm is there with a camera and they take like 5 pictures each time usually. After they take pictures they put the pictures on this card that you receive. Then when you get home you can order them online individually or you can get a CD for like $100 with all your pictures and you have the all the rights where you can print them off at your leisure.

We used photopass on our last trip and it was great. I'll try to explain how it works. When you go to one of the Disney Parks for the first time you can usually get your picture taken around the entrance and they will give you a photopass(looks like a credit card). Every time you have your picture taken you hand them that card for them to scan it. You use the same card at every picture spot at every park so keep that card safe. You have one card for your whole trip. On your last day you go to a photo center and they will bring up all your pictures and you can buy some or you can buy a disc with all the pictures and you own the rights and can reprint them anywhere when you buy the disc. If you buy only a few pictures you can not reprint them. You can also go to a website(not sure what the website is) for up to i think a month and buy prints. The disc I believe you can only buy at the Parks. We bought the disc because it is a better deal. One picture is around $15 and the disc is $99 and you own the rights. By the end of a week trip we had 120 pictures on the disc. Well worth it.

Some helpful hints: 1) Have your picture taken at every photo stop you can. There are numerous ones throughout the parks and even some character greeting spots have photographers. 2) Take different pictures at each spot. For example we would take pictures of the kids seperatly, together and maybe a family picture at each spot. 3)DON'T LOSS YOUR CARD

I don't know where all the photo shops are to buy prints or the disc are but there is one when you enter Magic Kingdom.

Hope this helps and maybe others can add someother helpful hints.

Hope your trip is fun. We Leave in 3 days and will be using photopass again.

Awesome:cool1:

Thank you so much! I think I will leave our camera in the room;)

Is it possible to get more than one copy of your photopass card? Wondering what to do when we split up. . .

I love PhotoPass, but I think your plan is a mistake. PhotoPass photographers aren't everywhere at all times to catch all things. I've used PhotoPass during each of my past 2 trips. The first time we bought 6 5x7s, and this last time we bought the CD. The CD now costs about $125, and included is a piece of paper proving that you own the copyright, meaning you are legally permitted to make all the copies you want from the disk. As great as the shots were, they weren't enough. They were a nice complement to the pics we took ourselves.

So if you like LOTS of photos, take your own camera. But if a few shots here and there is your idea of a good time, then go for it.

You can combine up to 10 cards into one account, on the website.

Getting another card is a GREAT idea for when you split up.

We usually end up with several whether we split up or not, because we usually leave the card(s) in the room at least once or twice during the trip.

If you want another, or if you left yours in the room, you don't need to do a whole song and dance with the photographer. Just say you don't have a card, and they'll give you a new one. They just hand them out when they take a photo if you don't have one. It's not encoded with your name or anything ....

Which leads me to an important point. Record the letters/numbers from the back of the card. Write them down somewhere, or do what I did and dictate them into your home or office or cellphone voice mail, so that even if you physically lose the cards AND the numbers you wrote down, you'll still have the numbers to access your photos at home via the website.

CleveRocks -- thanks for the great advice. Will definitely be calling home with our numbers. And glad to know that all 4 of us adults will be able to carry one and then consolidate the cards onto one account when our trip is over. WHOOOHOOOOOO!

I just finished updating my photopass pics on the site because I got home from wdw yesterday. If you go to the water parks at all they also take pictures and they give you waterproof photopasses. You can view the pics online and combine your cards on there and the site is really easy to use. I thought I was going to be confused because I never used photopass until this trip but it was great for getting everyone in the pics.

Dh and I used PhotoPass on our trip in Jan. We kept the card with our KTTW card and handed it to the photographer each time we had a pic taken. When we got home, I went online, edited the pix and we bought the disc. All the edits and borders are n the disc so we got almost double the photos.

We are going again in Sept and I plan to use PhotoPass and the edit features to enhance the pix.

Have a great time on your trip.

Can you buy the disc after leaving the park now? We bought the disc last year and it was a wonderful investment. We had about 250 photos on it.
Last year you had to purchase the disc before leaving the park.
I must say, the guy who "helped" me with my disc purchase was not very helpful.
Instead of letting me have some say in what borders he put or what photos he used, He just went through and ramdomly chose some. I know they can't spend alot of time with you but he was going so quickly "playing " with the images, I did'nt really have time for input. BUT...if I could go home and edit them...that would be really cool!

I want to know if I can play with them at home before buying, too. Also, do they have photopass photographers at character meals?

You are able to order the cd online after your trip. That way you can add the decorations to it. You just have to do it within 30 days I think from when you first add the card to the website.

So does this mean that I can email all my people the link to the website and my secret code, and they can check the website nightly to see what photos were taken of us that day?

Photopass is such a good idea. That way when you professional pictures taken you don't have to go pick them up at the end of the day or at a certain and carry them around. All you have to do when you get home is order them.
I am looking fwd to getting the one at the castle with the image of Tink in your hand, if they still are doing that.

When we were in WDW last year we were operating two photopasses.
Then the worst event happened,we lost one.
When we got back to the UK, I was in e-mail conversation with the Photopass people.
They were soooooo helpful.
Wanted to know as much info as poss regarding the lost photos -
number of people in them, descriptions, day, time, place etc. and after a week they found our photographs and posted them on the site.
What a wonderful example of customer service.:yay: :yay:
