How Does One Pool Hop?

I have been reading about families who pool hop. I have learned not to carry any DVC identifying bags with us. Do you go to the resort you want to swim in and change into your suits in the bathrooms located off the lobbies? Or do you arrive already wearing your suits?
When you are done swimming - where do you put on your dry clothes? Again in the restrooms located off the lobby?
Thanks again for all your help.

You make it sound like we're sneaking in to pool hop-we're not, that's a non-DVC member sport. If you are a DVC member you are authorized to pool hop provided you follow the clear-as-mud instructions. Arrive at the resort wearing anything your comfortable in and leave the same way. If your planning on eating at that resort in one of the nicer places I'd recommend changing into dry clothing.

WLVFamily - All the WDW Resort pools I have been to have Rest Room/Changing Facilities poolside. No need to worry about going into the hotel lobby to change your clothes! :)

With regards to pool hoping; there are two very upset families that just came back from the World and in both cases were asked to leave the pool at the BWV and in both cases were owners who for whatever reason were not staying there. Being told that there are people paying $500 per night to stay there and couldn't get a chair at the pool was an insult. They posted their expierences on this board.

We're all hopeing that the Management of the BWV handles future situations like this with a little more tact and if you're going to check id's do it before the family gets settled in at the pool. Being asked to "leave the grounds" after being there for over an hour is probably very embarrasing.

Just thought I'd pass this on when I saw the topic of Pool Hoping. I know this is a perk that we get and that it can also be taken away at a moments notice. However, the entire situation in both cases was handled very poorly in my opinion.

Ah, yes, pool hoping! That's when you visit the pool and hope that they won't change the rules mid-pool visit and kick you out! :) :) :)

It seems to me the safest thing to do is call the front desk of the resort you wish to pool hop at, make sure you get a definitive answer from a cm who actually knows what DVC pool hopping is, take down record of the conversation (ie...names, time, etc..) then go swimming!

I agree that the previous posters were treated terribly, but apparently the BWV pool was closed to pool hopping at those times (regardless, they should not have been treated the way they were!) and calling the front desk of BWV before heading out might have clarified things and prevented the situation (once again, I do not feel either family was treated fairly and I do think DVC's word on proper pool hopping procedure is rather unclear).
