How does MVMCP affect foot traffic in the other parks?

I am planning a visit to Disney in December, and one of the two possible dates has a MVMCP event on it. Would this increase or decrease visitors to other parks for the day? I am looking at doing Animal Kingdom, and need to know what to expect.

Less people go to MK on party days, which marginally increases crowds at the other parks. I doubt the increase is perceptible.

My concern is that the party dates could create a bottleneck, more so than usual, in AK, and the other person traveling with me doesn't move very quickly due to their age. The plans are for a day each at AK and SeaWorld, then on to Miami to board the cruise ship to the Bahamas.

I've found Monday is a good day for DHS since more crowds are at MK, traditionally a non-party day.

I am mainly concerned with Animal Kingdom in this particular case, but it is good to know since I will be going to MNSSHP in September and have DHS planned the next day(I based my timing around evening EMH on that trip), but will be going back to Disney in December with family, and we will only have one Disney day(AK was the park chosen). Stopping over for a couple days along the way to Miami to round out our vacation.

When in December you're going matters as well. If it's the first two weeks you should be just fine even if more people go to the other parks. There are generally a great deal fewer people there anyway those weeks, and they will disperse over 3 parks, not just the one. We are going the second week, with 3 party days over that time, and we plan on going to Epcot during all of those.

Either December 6th or 7th, so first week of the month.

You should be fine (IMO anyway). There might be an issue with all of the football players and cheerleaders there for Pop Warner, but they shouldn't all descend on one park, and they won't do it till the evenings. I would recommend looking to see which park has EMH on those days, and if AK has them on one day go the next.

Pop Warner??? AK doesn't have EMH either day.

Yeah, Pop Warner football and cheer will be there (most staying at the All Stars) that first week. They are busy during the days, and usually do parks at night. It's the main reason we are going the second week instead of the first. I have always avoided going early in December because of that, so I don't know what their tendencies for park going are. I'm sure if a lot of go to AK they will be drawn to Pandora, so maybe do that earlier in the day and do the rest of the park in the evening. Or even get done early, have dinner, and call it an early-ish night if it gets too crazy.

They tend to not impact park crowds much either.

I have a friend whose daughter has done it the last 2 years, they said a lot of the people go at night for a few hours. I'm sure it isn't crazy though, since the parks are lighter anyway.

The plan is Safari first, then probably Pandora, then the rest of the park. If we have time we might get another trip through Pandora or another time on the Safari, but I am not counting on it since it is a 7pm close.

Epcot tends to be more crowded due to the Candlelight Processional. When we were at Epcot the week after Thanksgiving 2016, my wife overheard several people say they only reason they went to Epcot was to see the CP.
