I didn't know where else to put this so I thought I would ask here. Amazingly I could find zero info on Google about it. How does Mulan sign her autograph at character meetings? I read on a Disney tip blog that"certain" members will write messages in their country's language at EPCOT but it did not specify which characters. I understand that Chinese characters are difficult to write but I'm just curious to know - how does Mulan do it? I think it's a fun bit of trivia, especially if she does write in Chinese. :)

I've met her a couple of times at Disneyland and no, she didn't sign in Chinese. She usually just signs Mulan. One time she signed love, Mulan, the best autographs are ones that the characters add drawings. Pluto added some circles along the o to shape a paw. Fawn, the fairy, added a lady bug and leaves. Terrence, the fairy, added a little pixie dust. Vidia, the fairy added wind and a wind cyclone. Belle added a rose. Aurora added a crown... Sometimes the character doesn't add anything and it's a let down for my DD because she loves to be surprised this way. I have pictures if you're interested.

Oh ok. Thank you! I have my old WDW autographs somewhere. I remember some of them added drawings. Dale from Chip & Dale wrote a joke!!

My grandfather had a Goofy golfing tee that he wore to Chef Mickey's and Goofy came over to our table. He gestured that he liked his shirt and my grandfather asked him to sign it. Goofy then gestured that he couldn't sign it bc he was wearing it. So my grandpa took off his shirt!! Lol!! Goofy his his eyes and kept peeking and hiding again and shaking his head but he did sign it. It was hilarious. Thankfully my grandfather has always been in good shape so it wasn't too traumatizing. I need to find those photos. I've got them somewhere. (Even back then I was the photographer.)

I think you are confusing cast members with characters. It is true that cast members around World Showcase will often write in their native language.

I know the difference between the two, but I may have misread the tip in question.

The CMS usually write in their own language at all of the Kidcot stations around WS in Epcot. DD loves when they write stuff in China. Sometimes they write a greeting and sometimes they will write your name in the Chinese characters. You may have misread the tip, or whoever created the tip may have gotten it wrong- it sure wouldn't be the first time I had seen an article on WDW that had misinformation.

I used to have an origami heart from EPCOT (I think that was in Japan), and it had Asian characters on it. I loved it. I wish I knew where it went. The one and only time I ever went to WDW I was 11. I'm 29 now :/

We have been gifted several origami items in recent years. There is sometimes a lady in Japan who shows the kids how to fold paper. So if you go again-you may be able to get another one :)
