Renting a studio at the beach club villas on my honeymoon in the next few weeks and a question I'm not 100% sure of the answer to is how does mousekeeping work for DVC resorts?

It's my understaind (what little that is) is that you can pay to have this service each day.. or they have about 1 visit per week???

What about towels, etc...?

tks everyone for your help!

If your stay is under 7 days you get TRASH & TOWLES on the 4th day of your stay

If over 7 days you get full cleaning on the 4th day and T&T on the 8th.

You can get full cleaning for $25 (studio ) for any day in advance , T&T for $10 or an extra set of Towles for $6 .You also get free Washer and dryer use at the pools(detergent $1 ).

I hope this helps. WE are doing Extra towles and T&T on the 2nd & 6th day so for $26 dollors we will be covered from doing towles if we don't have to.

so basically unless I want to pay for them to do T&T... I will be doing laundry in order to keep enough fresh clean towels for the week? ugh...

oh well.... tks for your help on this

It's not as bad as it sounds. It saves us a lot of money, and as an additional benefit, we get a lot more privacy as we don't have someone invading our hotel room every day.

so does anyone know how many towels you usually get for the week (for 2 people?)

Also.. is it free to use the washer and dryer by the pool and you just pay for the detergent?

I don't remember how many towels they put in the studio.

The washer and dryer by the pools are indeed free for folks staying in the villas -- you just pay for the detergent.

Not really. I assume you will just be two of you, and there will be 4 bath towels, two hand towels and two wash cloths in the bathroom. If you hang the first day's towels after you use them, they will be dry for the third day, etc. The extra towel pack ($6) will get you another set if you choose to have a fresh towel each day. Believe it or not, most of us prefer not having housekeeping traipsing in and out of the room every day, and on your honeymoon, I would think you would appreciate that too. ;)

Especially during your honeymoon! :)

If I can pop in here with a question concerning mousekeeping also. We have a 2-bdrm dedicated villa booked with all member cash. I recently read that if you pay entirely with cash you will have daily mousekeeping regardless of whether you are a dvc member or not. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, can we tell them at check-in that we prefer to have just the trash & towel service on the 4th day and not full cleaning everyday? Thanks.

If you made your reservation through MS, it should be treated similar to a points reservation. If you made it through CRO, you will get daily cleaning, like all cash-paying guests.

Thank you. That's what I wanted to hear. We did make our reservations through MS.

Once again I find myself in complete and total agreement with bicker - is there some kind of planetary alignment going on? :thumbsup2

I'm actually a pretty reasonably guy. :)

It works a little like this. You call for the extra mousekeeping - they don't turn up. You call again - still no show - and again, and again, until you give up.

Next time, I will call the front desk, as opposed to calling mousekeeping direct.

Calling the front desk is EXACTLY how it should be done, because it is a charge item.

But calling the Front Desk doesn't really get you the Front Desk but a central answering service.

This past Christmas they kept coming into the room and fully cleaning each day and leaving tons of towels, shampoos etc. I had to keep calling the front desk. I didn't want this (I like not having mousekeeping in each day) and certainly didn't want to pay for it. I called mousekeeping every day too. Finally I called the DVC to ask them for help with this. We weren't charged but it was a pain to be calling all the time. It is kind of funny now but we weren't amused when it happened. Maybe I kept getting your towels and shampoos Cinderella! ;)

If you get the chance you should try a one bedroom villa. So nice for a couple, and it has a jacuzzi tub!!!!!! washer and dryer in the room and more towels:):):):) :wizard:
