How does MNSSHP work?

Could someone tell me about this Halloween party?
I've been told that even though the party starts at 7pm you can get in at 4pm.
Is it in a special section of the park?
Must you dress in costumes?
Are all the rides still running?
I'm guessing there is a special parade, anything else?

MNSSHP is a Halloween Party at WDW. They have candy you can collect, they have different events, there's a parade, a special fireworks show, and a lot of characters you don't see often (Headless Horseman being the most notable one). It takes place in all of the Magic Kingdom, most attractions are open such as Pirates, and Haunted Mansion, and the Riverboat. You don't have to dress in costume but most people do.

It is a great event. My mom just went to it and had a blast.

One year we went and my kids got to be in the parade too.

Just to let you know, it is a seperate ticketed event. You must purchase tickets for them, and many sell out prior to the start.

Our family of 6 scored well over 10 lbs of candy (not much chocolate as it would have melted, but nothing like a couple pounds of Smarties to start the day off right!)

We rode more rides from 7-midnight than we had done all day....

Parade AWESOME!!

Characters in costumes... TWO thumbs up!

Best part... (well not the best best part but a throughly amusing part) was all the families in TOTAL Incredible Outfirts.. Boots, muscles, gloves... all in the 90 degree heat.. it was facsinating to see dozens of sweaty Incredible families... we couldnt take out eyes off of them... WAY way way too hot of a choice to wear in FLA, yet we keep seeing more and more of them...

Thanks for the help. We were planning to go today but my hubby had to go out of town yesterday so we are looking at the next night for this. {3 hours drive from our house and we have never been to this event before}. Just a couple of more questions.

Q--So you have to buy the tickets in advance?
As usual we are just going for 1 day since we live fairly close {Hubby won't won't pay to stay in Orlando}. We normally buy our 1 day passes from the Navy Base, do you think they have the Halloween tickets? Or do you only get them online from Disney?

I'm not very comfortable in costumes, but I do like to look at other peoples.
I'm planning to just wear a Halloween t-shirt and a very cute Halloween vest, so is that costume enough?

Q - Do we get candy if we have no kids? LOL We both have sweet toothes.

What your thinking about wearing is just fine...

Yes adults can trick or treat.. the two best 'stations' are... RIght as you enter from the Hub into Adventure land... to the right I think just past Or just before the Dole Whip booth you enter... and follow the path in doors with 6-8 candy barrels... the second good spot is just past Goofy's Barnstormer, yet another path that leads to the back of Tomorrowland... 6-8 barrels there too!!

You can get in as early as 4 pm with the MNSSHP ticket....

Good spot for Parade... In Front of the Hall Of Presidents... great view of the Headless Horseman (worth the price of addmission alone to see him) But I would definatly work your way around to the front of the castle to view the fireworks... the show ON the castle is FAB!!!

Not sure if you can get the passes at the Base or not, but you can order them online and use WILL CALL to pick them up at the park (just to make sure they dont sell out on your drive over..... )
