How does Magic Bands and dining credits work?

Hello:

Prior to Magic bands, when we were done a meal...I would just hand my KTTW card to the waiter and the credits for my entire family would come off. Do the Magic bands work the same way in that they could swipe my band and my family's credits would be deducted? Or would each of us have to swipe our bands when the check comes?

Yes! I have been reading about this and called and ask them a bunch of questions!

Just to be clear- you don't HAVE to get the bands! They have cards too. But my custom bands came very quickly (2 days after picking the colors and putting the names on them through the Disney website)


They work as your hotel key; Disney Dining plan credits and your fast pass plus ( which I already have set up!) you can also sync a debit card to it and use it to make purchases in the park gift shops, etc.

Can't wait to use them!!
