How does it work with split reservation?

Hi! We will be coming to Disney from 11/25-12/5! We just decided to arrive on 11/25 due to flights being way cheaper that day than the following day but we had to do a split reservation (same hotel) to be able to keep our FD. So, we have 1 reservation for the night of 11/25 and then the 2nd reservation is for 11/26-12/5 with FD. So my question is, how does this affect my ADR and FP+ dates? Since my 11/25 reservation is only for 1 night, will my ADRs open up according to that date for my whole trip? Or since we are only booked 1 night will it only let me do the day that's 180 from that date? Also same question for FP+? My tickets will be linked to our 2nd reservation since that's the package, the 1 night reservation is a room only. Any assistance would be appreciated!

Meant to mention, we won't be arriving until late on 11/25 so I don't need any ADRs or FP+ for that date but it would be nice if that gets me an extra day jump on the rest of my trip.

We did a split stay on our last trip and we made all of our ADR's 180 from our 1st check in day and our FP+ 60 days out with no problems:)

Your FP+ reservations should open up 60 days from your package date check-in. ADR's should open 180 days from the first check-in. See Mesaboy2's FP+ FAQ thread that is a sticky at the top of the everything FP+ subsection of this forum.

Was a package involved? You will not be able to make any FP+ reservations for the RP stay until the package tickets are activated at guest relations.

Thank you! That makes sense. So I get an extra day jump on ADRs but FP+ would still be the original date we were planning on. Thanks!!

A package was involved (free dining), but we added on to the end of our stay, not the beginning. But we did not have to activate tickets, just had them linked to MDE.

I have had several split stays recently. They have been continuous stays -- checking out of one hotel and checking back in the other on the same day. They have had two reservation numbers -- one for each stay. The 60 day FP+window for both stays opened on the day corresponding to the earlier reservation. HOWEVER, for ADRs it was different. I could not make my ADR reservations for the second reservation until that window opened -- the first stay reservation did not cover the second stay.

Yep. Did a split stay last year and have another one coming up in 2 weeks. This is the way it has worked both times - FP opens together, ADRs open separately. However, some folks have reported being able to call in and get a CM to do all their dining bookings on the first day.

Makes sense for the ADRs. However, do you think my FP+ will open on the earlier day if my tickets are booked on the later reservation? My 11/25 reservation is just a 1 night room only and then the 11/26 reservation is a 9 night package reservation with FD. We won't be needing to do any FP+ reservations for 11/25 because we get in late and won't be going to any parks.

No, if your tickets are booked as a part of a package then the FP window won't open until the booking date associated with the package. Sorry! We always buy our tickets separately so I forget about about that aspect.

There have been reports that the FP booking window opens 60 days prior to Stay #1 (RO) and FPs can be booked for the Stay #2 park days with the attached package tickets.

If this happens for you, can you please report back? Thanks!:)

Sure will! It's only an extra day but hey, with all this Frozen madness that extra day could be pretty helpful!
