How does Disney keep the parks so bug free?

They definitely have bees.

They need bees to pollinate. Bees are the only things that do pollinate and are vital to us. You don't see that many bees anymore because, for some reason, the colonies are dying (some think a virus of some kind). It's a big concern because without bees, we don't have flowers.

So, don't kill a bee, please.

This is fascinating to me. When I went to Disney several years in a row, I kept getting what looked like small hives on my lower legs, usually around my ankles. I assumed it was from consuming or wearing things that I typically don't at home, and after many trips (that included different resorts, different restaurants, etc.) I had almost narrowed it down to either Florida strawberries (how they're grown? pesticide? how they're washed?) or sunscreen (as in didn't wear it regularly, day after day, back home). Now I'm curious if THIS could've been it! Do you have a link to any of the threads?

I had that too - so did one of my friends that was with me. We went to the first aid station at Epcot and we were told they see this quite frequently at WDW. Sorry I can't remember what caused it or what they think caused it. It was weird and it stopped at the top of my socks (right above my ankles). I didn't have any problems the last couple of times I've been to WDW.

Here's the link to the thread - I think it is the 5th post in the thread that talks about the rash: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1823488

Not that it matters for the purposes of this thread, but I bolded the bit that was incorrect.

We were down there in September and although we saw some lovebugs, I did not get bit the whole time!:thumbsup2
