How Does Disney Collection work?

I've been debating buying DVC for a while now and I think my last hang up between direct and resale is Ticket discounts and Disney Collection, specifically the international Disney resorts. How does that work? Are there point charts for the international hotels? Is it 'worth it', or a waste of points like ABD and Cruise line?

They tend to be very expensive, and the point charts often are not released in a timely way.

I believe the consensus is that the points are not worth using outside DVC resorts, be that cruise or the “Collection”.

I believe it’s better for you to rent your points out to a third party at... lets say $18 per point. Then take that cash to pay for whatever you wanted and still have profit left over.

No. (You would actually be renting a reservation (even though we refer to it as renting points).
