I have to admit that I am a Disney nut case! (specifically, Disneyland) I thought it would be interesting to see how Disney fits into other Disney fan's lives.

Here are some samples of some of the day to day Disney in my life:
Almost daily I get up before the rest of the family so I can check the boards in my own quiet morning solitude. :surfweb:
As I scan for new posts, I am always careful to add any new ideas, tricks or pertinent information to my "list", which just happens to be kept on a handy dandy ever changing word document. (currently has about 15 pages on it)
Among the topics are:
  • A day by day planning calendar of our upcoming trip
  • tour and priority seating info w/complete list of phone numbers for any Disney office I could possibly need
  • list of things to do (rides I've never ridden, shows I need to see, etc)
  • list of restaurants and things to eat (includes where to find some items)
  • refurbishment schedule
  • things to remember (such as where snow falls and how often, where parades start and end, etc.)
  • tips
  • things to look for (hidden mickeys, etc)
  • list of manual flush toilets
  • photo ideas and tips
  • ideas, things to do (games, etc)
  • Hotel info
  • local info and phone numbers (food delivery, physicians, etc.)
  • seasonal info (crowds, best month, holidays, etc.)
  • coming attractions w/completion dates
  • Buzz Lightyear tips
  • Disney dollar order info

Most days I check the countdown clock to see how many days until we will be heading for Disneyland. Hardly a day goes by in our household without mention of Disneyland... and not always from me! :lovestruc

In the evenings my family scatters in all directions. One of my favorite things to do is to sit down with my Disney friends to see what else they might have to share for the day. (I counted and I have over 150 bookmarks related to Disney! :scared1:)

As soon as we get back from one trip I am back on the boards gathering info, planning dates and making arrangements for the next year!

So do tell....? How does Disney fit into your routine? Is your desk covered with Disney? When you go to sleep at night do you dream Disney? Anything to share so that some of us don't feel like we are alone in our obsession? Do tell me I am NOT alone!

I too can hardly wait to get on the computer and check all the threads I belong too and the new ones. Disneyland is my obsession, I know Disneyland really well since I have been going since the late 1960's and I love it. I have all the planning books. I am always planning our next trip before the current one even starts. I visit the official Disneyland website all the time too. There are several websites that have pictures of Disneyland that I always check for new pictures. I belong to several Disneyland discussion boards but this is by far my favorite. So yes it ha an effect on my everday life.

I am a complete Disney addict!! And since I am also a kindergarten teacher, I can get away with having Mickey and friends all over my class and not feel too wierd about it, LOL!

My house has lots if Disney decor and so does my car. Just about everything I own has some Mickey!!

Are you me?

Disney has completely taken over my life. Lets see, I try to go 1-2 times a year, and in between trips, its all I can think about. I work at the Disney Store so I can have a regular Disney fix. I have trained my 2 year old to say each morning when I ask him what he dreamed about to say "I dreamed of hugging Mickey at DL". My kids wear Disney clothes everyday, and usually their socks and underwear match the character on their shirt, or at least from the same movie. We plan out our meals. We will sit on a bench at the pool, watching people swim, and my son and I will pick a "land", and talk about it to no end. I have countless storage bins full of Disney things, most that I will never use. The list goes on....

I have Disney decor but not tons. I would do more but DBF won't let me. LOL He's not quite as wacky about it as I am, I could easily get lose. At my desk I have a Disney mouse pad and a Tink that hangs over my monitor. At work I have a Tink pen I like to use (I need to take another, mine is getting low on ink) and I have lots of Disney clothes. We have pins galore, some in frames and hung on our walls. I'm on this board almost daily, unless I'm IN DL! LOL I'm always trying to figure out how to get back and I'm currently trying to figure out how to afford new AP's.....we've only had them for a year and I'm just sad at the thought of not having them next year. I'm definitely an addict and I must say, I'm proud of it. There are so many worse things to be addicted to out there....LOL

I am so addicted to the thought of going to DL that I daily have thoughts of "Oh I need to remember to pack that when we go...) which wouldn't be too bad, BUT, I don't even know when we are going back exactly!!! :confused3 It definitely will not be before February of next year unfortunately. Now I am in the middle of also immersing myself in all things WDW (still lurking on those boards) because there was a one time mention that we might go next spring as well since DH's family all lives in Savannah, GA, just a few hours away from WDW. (We live over 10 away from DLR :sad2: ).

You know it's funny but it killed me last night to trade in my old van because I had Disney decals on some of the windows. It's funny but I almost wanted to say no I didn't need a new van.:rotfl: I already have a new Maleficent decal to put on the new van so I am happy about that.

Are you me?
:rotfl2: I don't think so but I have trouble with my memory so I guess it's a possibility! Nope, nevermind, I am pretty sure they threw away the mold immediately after I was hatched! On the other hand, if I ever need to "find myself" I'll now know to go looking in Oregon. ;)

So do share, just what part of my mania looks familiar?

:scratchin Hmmmm..... Sounds like an excellent excuse to do some Disney shopping for new decalsl!

I find that as I get older I love all things disney more than ever:lovestruc

Yeah, but at least Disney keeps us all young at heart!

Yep same here. Im going in october and I think I have a liver left that I can trade for a turkey leg or something. :confused3 (my DL funds are low at the moment due to the dang gas prices)

Not sure I would trade any body parts for a turkey leg but I might trade an arm or leg for some BB creme brulee!

:sad2: Wow, you guys really are FREAKS!

It's nice to know I'm in good company. :rotfl2: :grouphug:

Well for one thing, I disboard all the time and have made some wonderful friends who share my love of Disney!

Since our first trip to DL as a family in 2003, we have sorted geared our timeline of life around our Disney trips. "Oh we did that right before the time we went to DL this time or that time", sort of thing. We have shared the trips and the planning as a family. At least one night a week, we have to watch some planning DVD or one of the home movies we have shot at the parks. We got to go to DL and WDW with my mom before she died and share that with her. We have gone with my brother and his family several times with more of those trips upcoming. So its also spilled into the extended family.

And as far as financially, its made us very hesitant to spend money on other things! So often I'll think, a new couch or bedroom furniture would be nice but then realize, nope, I would rather spend our money on another Disney trip. Its not for everyone but its made our family very happy. If we never got to go again (omg that would be awful) we would have those memories to look back on.

And my house has Disney touches all over the place, people know as soon as they walk in what we love!

Well I guess when you are driving down a country road and spot in the distant cactus the picture below and have to pull over and take a picture, I would say we might be addicted to Disney.. LOL Well we can't decide if it is Mickey or Minnie. DW says because of the flower it has to be Minnie..

Nice Minnie there, Crasher11.
Now I will be looking for hidden Mickey's everywhere I go! :magnify: Ugh! Where will the madness end? :crazy2:

I do look for Hidden Mickey's everywhere...LOL I find them a lot too! LOL
