How Does Disney Affect Your Life?

but we love all things Disney.

As a matter of fact we are heading to Las Vegas on Wednesday because dh qualified for a poker tournament there. And my first thought was that Disneyland was only a 4 hour drive away!! So we are taking a little side trip!!!

Our house has some Disney decor. If I had a clue how to post pictures I would, but I am really computer illiterate!!

My dh thinks it is funny that I know the employees at our Disney Store by name.

We have asked the kids if they would like to go anywhere else and they said only if it meant as a bonus to Disney because they were not giving up their Disney trips to go somewhere else.

We currently own a duplex and are planning on buying a home in the next year. I told dh that I only wanted a home that we could afford while still going to Disney as much as we currently do.

We own two DVC contracts.

All our friends come to us to help them plan their trips. And we have many friends who want to go with us!!

We took my sister and her girls in March and 3 months later they are still talking about how much they got to see and do because we "really know our Disney".

I think pretty much everything in our life revolves around Disney. We live for it!!!

That is exactly how I feel! If I have to give up my trip to go somewhere else... forget it! Only a true Disneyland lover can understand I guess because most people look at be like I'm insane for not wanting to go see something different.
I used to like going different places but now, and especially while the kids are young, DL keeps me perfectly satisfied. It's the simple things!

oh i know what you mean i want to go to sea world buttt when i brang it up I say (on top of disney) becosue i dont want to give that up. LOL but we will go to sea world, some time just not yet disney is where i want to be

Well I am like you guys. I check this and a couple other Disney sites daily. I always have a trip that I am planning even if it is years away! We are currently AP holders to Disneyland and probably will be from now on as long as we can afford it ;). My girls are disneyaholics like me and they both have Disney bedding and have just about everything disney you can imagine. Disney bikes, Disney backpacks, lunchpails, calendars, every toy you can imagine. Tons of clothes. I have all kinds of Disney stuff all over my desk and of course the Disney license plate surround. We have Disney music in our car and the girls even have the Disney MP3 players with of course the Disney music on them. I own just about every classic Disney DVD there is. We go see every new Disney movie when it comes out and YES we went and saw Wall-E on Friday night and LOVED it!

We go see Disney on ice twice each year. We have been to WDW twice and are going for a third time this November. My dream is to go to the other parks at least once in my life!

If I never go to any other vacation spots in my life I have to go to a Disney park at least once a year!

It is TRULY my happy place!

Sometimes I feel like the only Disney Freak in my city. But then I come here and realize I am not alone!!!

We are planning a trip to DLR in Dec. 2008 and I am so excited, but then we can't go again for a while. Our son is in Taiwan and we want to meet up with him in 2 years there, so we will be saving our Disney money for a big trip overseas. Although, we all want to go to Hong Kong.... and there is a Disneyland in Hong Kong... So maybe I can get my Disney Fix half way around the world???!!!

We love Disneyland and our kids talk about it a lot. Sometimes my almost 4 year old will pop out of bed at night to ask me a random Disneyland question. :lovestruc They also "watch" the pictures of our trips on our digital photo frame. That is so fun to have running. We talk about the rides, parades, what we are for sure going to do next time.

I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait!

For us, it was originally all about WDW. But, after going 4 times in 3 years, suddenly our focus shifted to all the Disney parks. This year its DL. Then, in the next 3, we hope to return to WDW, make it over to DL Paris, and then the icing on the cake: our tentative plan for 2010 - DL in CA and DL in Tokyo on the same trip!

Umm... can I too be added to Disney makes me poor club?:lmao:

:rotfl2: I don't think so but I have trouble with my memory so I guess it's a possibility! Nope, nevermind, I am pretty sure they threw away the mold immediately after I was hatched! On the other hand, if I ever need to "find myself" I'll now know to go looking in Oregon. ;)

So do share, just what part of my mania looks familiar?

Well, my true insanity circles around the hotel issue I guess even though I have the HOJO reserved for our trip, I'd still like another room, especially since daughter is going with us now. I'm hoping the HOJO will come out with some et book rates soon for 2009 (March) so I'll know whether or not I can get another room for the same rate or close..Anyway I get up, boot up the computer and coffee and sit down for awhile. I have all my Disney related websites in one area of my favorites all organized. The first thing I do is go to better bidding and check if there's anything new for hotwire, then to priceline on the same site. Lately I've been doing a quick check for my dates on Hotwire, then I go to Bidding for travel and see if there's anything new there, then on to HOJO for a quick check. When I'm satisfied I go to DIS. I'll bring up my notepad if there's anything I see I want to add for tips and advice- it is about 3 pages long now, (I'm starting to organize it) I also have about a 2 page word pad on hotels. Then I go to Mice chat, check hotel board, then go to the message board. Oh I usually check the HOJO message board to see if there's anything new also. If I have time I'll also check
Mouseplanet, Jim Hill Media, Laughing Place and trip reports on DIS and other boards. Other than that I have nothing to do for awhile as far as actual trip planning goes as we are still 8 months out, I'm trying to lose some weight which is going pretty well actually.
I am really frustrated right now because I have about a months wait until :
HOJO comes out with my dates for et rate (or not--in which case I will start bidding for a priceline room for a second room- hey kids will be 18 and 20 for trip they'd love their own room)

pretty sure most of the Marriot hotels will have their dates up so I can price compare with other sites for the discount thing. Right now it's too far in advance on line for the 2 I'd consider, Fairfield and Residence Inn (the closer one)

Unofficial Guide to Disneyland comes out

ticket prices for 2009 will come out

Oh we saw Wall E Friday--loved it. Yeah husband is a Disney addict, has 100's of the old albums and massive amounts of Disneyana, every movie, well just about. We are starting to watch to movies again, have seen The Aristocats, Lion King, lately, we want ot watch them all before our trip. We watched an old video from the 60's his brother took a few nights ago from one of their family trips, was fun, although no actual family members were in it, and seemed to focus on various attractive women around the park....We also dug out our old family albums for Disneyland--the only actual albums we have, all the rest are in envelopes in a box lol. As far as music goes, when I first started sownloading cd's of mixed music, I often horrified kids when dropping off kids at school--" are you trying to get us killed Mom"? (it's a small world playing somewhat loudly) I have Disney songs all over my cd's at some point I started getting smarter and putting them all together. Lately I made a good one with 4 songs from Enchanted, some of the Louis Armstrong Disney songs, and the loop from New Orleans square. :goodvibes

Ah yes! This is my kind of thread!
We are AP holders and did go about 48 times last year....wow, thats a lot. It is about 4 times a month. I am so grateful to live so close to be able to go so much.
We are having a Disney wedding at Disneyland Hotel, I personally own 3 pairs of Disney tennis shoes, and 3 pairs of Disney Flip Flops, and at least 7 t-shirts. Mickey Ice cube trays, and tons and tons of little knick knacks. I check the board many times a day too. We are obsessed with Dl and planning trips too.
This is the best! I am surrounded by DL fans and don't stick out like a sore thumb! So glad to be in such good company!:wizard:
:grouphug: Have a great day everyone, I actually have to work today:rotfl:

LOL We have some Disney CD's, actually we have quite a few. Nowhere near 100's but we lost a lot of CD's in our fire. They were melted together, we couldn't get the cases open to try to save the discs, we actually did save a few and they play fine so it's likely the others would have been fine, we just couldn't get them apart/open. Same with DVD's/VHS, we had every Disney movie (even sequels) you could think of but most of them were ruined by the heat as well. We are slowly rebuilding but it's taking a while since a lot of the movies we had aren't currently available.

I have some Disney flip flops too!! And I want the ice cube trays but can't rationalize it yet....we have an ice maker in the freezer so can't explain to myself why I want ice cube trays. LOL

My girls are not yet horrified by me dropping them off and the music I'm playing, but then I do tend to turn it down a lot so we can say our goodbyes. LOL

I love this thread, it shows me I am not insane with my love for everything Disney....LOL

I am a complete Disney addict!! And since I am also a kindergarten teacher, I can get away with having Mickey and friends all over my class and not feel too wierd about it, LOL!

My house has lots if Disney decor and so does my car. Just about everything I own has some Mickey!!

I am a substitute teacher and I subbed a lot in the same Kindergarten class this year. The teacher is a Disney addict (like me, that is probably why we got a long so well!) and she has Mickey all over her room...she even has a fish tank with Mickeyhead Platys. In addition, she has a Mickey Mouse doll that the kids take turns taking home with them and the kids keep a journal of what Mickey did at their house and even take photos. It's really neat!!

I am a TOTAL addict myself. :goodvibes Examples:

1.) I am on these boards multiple times a day, even when I know there is nothing new left for me to read.

2.) I have excel and word files with schedules, lists, tips, etc that I am constantly reading and updating.

3.) I just bought the newest version of the Unofficial Guide for Disneyland...even though I knew I didn't really need it but I wanted to read it anyway. Each night when I get into bed, I browse a little.

4.) I belong to the Disney Movie Club and I own a TON of Disney movies that we constantly watch.

5.) I have a ton of Disney music and a special playlist on my Ipod with only Disney music.

6.) I am the junior program director at a local bowling alley...and I have noticed that there are hidden Mickey's in the carpet.

7.) I talk non-stop about Disney. To everyone.

8.) I have Disney stuff animals, our Mickey Mouse ears, the Disney potato heads (I have two...when my DH and I got married, I wanted a bride and groom :rotfl2: ), Disney picture frames, Disney pens and pencils on bookshelves, my night stand and my dressar.

My husband thinks I am insane. I guess maybe I am. I will always be a big kid! (I am 32...my DD is 15!) We are trying for a baby and I already think about how great it will be to have a little on to take to Disney again. Every trip, I can't wait until it's time to go and then when it is over, I get the Disney blues!

I am glad to know there are others out there like me!! :thumbsup2

Okay, so I'm a Disney freak!
  • Ever since I joined the boards, I love to look at it and see what ppl like to write.
  • I have to go to Disneyland at least 2x a month or more. I would go more but I'm a very busy person.
  • I've been an annual passholder ever since I can remember.
  • I miss the old Disney cartoons.
  • I never get bored going to Disneyland.
  • I get teary-eyed when I watch the fireworks.
  • My family has lot of Disney collectables.
  • I own lots of Disney clothing.
  • I wouldn't mind dying at Disneyland.
  • I know tons about Disneyland and I want to be a tour guide.
  • I love Walt!
  • I dressed up as cast members twice for Halloween and practically got kicked out.

Hmmm...there's just too many things that make me a Disney freak that I can't list them all. :earboy2:

disney wedding potato heads oh how cute where in the world did you get them hehe I should make up a list maybe tomorrow lol weeee goooo disney * jumps with pom poms*

Now that's pretty serious Disneyland loving! But I guess the more I think of it.... at least you could go out doing something you loved. Maybe not so bad at all!

Sounds like Disney makes a small fortune just off of some Disney fans here! I can't say that we have lots of Disney decor but we do have Disney t-shirts, Disney crocs, Disney frames, Disney computer games, Disney toys and a huge collection of Disney movies. oooooh! they have Disney ice trays? (makes note to word document... must get me some of those!)

My boyfriend and I went on our first international holiday to the states in Feb/March of this year.

Disneyland has ruined me! :rotfl: I find absolutely nothing interesting in planning a holiday to Italy or France... I'm trying to plan our holiday to Italy in May 2010, but instead I find myself back here, and I'm currently checking to see if we could afford another trip in November this year...

I don't think I'll be able to look forward to anything ever again!! :sad1:

I love you guys! You make me feel so normal!
Everyday my kids and I make some reference to DL.
We even have the Official Album of DL CD in our car in the CD player at all times. When we are going down a winding hill my 4 yr old asks me to play either the music from Space Mountain or Calif Screamin.

I have many Disney T-shirts, have a Disneyland license plate holder on my minivan with of course a Mickey antanae topper for each season.

A Tigger mouse pad, my scrapbooking corner in the office is all Disney'd out.
If I go to a scrapbooking crop I'm usually scrapping the last DL trip.
My girlfriends tease me if we do a girls weekend away because I always pack my stuff in my Mickey luggage.

I'm always thinking about that next trip--September 2008.
We bought Annual Passes last September and have been lucky enough to go 3 times so far, this September will make it 4.

My husband suggested taking the kids to Legoland this year but I don't want to give up a wonderful day of DL for Legoland...but I will.

I'm spending my 40th Bday weekend at DL with 7 of my girlfriends this September..I guess you could say Disney affects my life in a big way.

oh yeah...I wanted to have DL wedding but my husband said "No way!"

Maybe I should have married another Disney geek.:lovestruc

Well, I started my own podcast, I go to WDW almost every weekend, I listen to several disney podcasts religiously, and now I'm planning my first trip to DL, and going solo, couldn't wait for others to find time in their schedule. For something like a trip to DL, you MAKE time.

I understand the addiction. I have been addicted since the first time I went as a child a million years ago. Have you ever been to Disneyland in France. I have been curious what it is like? Not that we will be going anytime soon because I only seem to plan trips to Disneyland. What can I say I love my home state.:goodvibes
