In my opinion, you need to include meal pricing at DVC resorts when comparing to points used for DCL since meals and beverage is included with your DCL room reservation... So a better comparison would be the cost of your DVC points at (say BCV) + your dining plan price..... this would equal your DCL cost, so I feel like the would even out?
Not the proper comparison. Your comparing the cost of one vacation to another but that is completely different than stating that booking a cruise on points is not a good deal. It’s a much, much more simple evaluation. DVC points have a certain rental value and to make it easy there are brokers that will do the work for you to find a renter. So, determine the number of points that you would be required to use to book a cruise. Take that number of points x $12 or $13 then compare that total to how much the cruise would cost to book on cash. 99% of the time you’ll still have cash in your pocket after renting out your points and paying for the cruise with that cash. And if you do the work to find a renter you can get $15/pt or more.
If that’s too much to do then I think David’s rentals still will book a cruise for you, rent your points AND give you the additional cash back.
