How does a GAC help someone who is already in a wheelchair?

I have a doctor's note for a GAC (I know it's not necessary), but I'm wondering how it will help in my circumstance.

I will have handicap access to everything, already. Is there more to it than just having handicap access? TIA

Hi and to disABILITIES!

First of all a doctor's note is neither required or desired. Both Federal Law and Disney Policy preclude a Guest Relations person from asking to see such a note. And generally a doctor's note will only give a diagnoses.

A GAC is based on the needs of the individual. If a person has stamina and/or mobility problems the normal Guest Relations response is to suggest use of a wheelchair or ECV.

The only reason you might need a GAC is if you had a disability (such as hearing or vision problem) that cannot be resolved with a wheelchair or ECV.

As Cheshire Figment wrote, if your needs are just for wheelchair accessible seating and/or path into the attraction, you don't need a GAC.
The GAC is for people using a wheelchair who have additional needs that are not met by just having a wheelchair accessible way in or place to sit.
