How does a 2yr old eat on DDP?

Hi all,
I know this question has probably already been asked, but our daughter will be almost 3 ( but not quite) during our summer trip- and I understand that at buffets she can eat, for free, right? But what about the table service meals- should she just share with us or can I buy her a meal OOP?

A 2 year old does eat free, but only by sharing with the others with them. You cannot order their own meals or you will be charged. If your 2 year old eats a lot or you don't want to share, then you can order OOP, but if they don't eat a lot, I would just share since portions are pretty big anyway.

A good idea is to do a lot of buffets, because you have unlimited food and they have pretty good choices for kids.

2 year olds and younger are actually noted as "infant kids meals" or "infant KM" on your check, and considered a "guest" (for example guest 5: infant KM). The price for an infant KM is $0 whether on DDP or OOP. Your 2 year old will get their own plate (empty) and drink. At buffet or family style this works out exactly the same as everyone else, they are just free. At ala carte TS you just give the child whatever portion from the adult plates or other kid meals you want. You can order a regular kid meal from the kid meal menu and pay for this OOP if you don't want to share or are ordering something the child won't or shouldn't eat. I was on the DxDDP recently for 8 nights and 8 days, with 2AD, 1CH and 1 2year old. Only once (at the coral reef) did I buy a KM for the 2 year old. I used snack credits for milk, for example, at CS, sharing a double cheesburger or similar. There is almost always plenty of food to share with one 2 year old.

Thanks everyone! My dd is an eater, but if I have to, I'll just pay oop at ts restaurants. We have a lot of buffets planned, so that should work out great!
