The only other option I see for you since you're not interested in UPH, is to get the 7Day Hopper Plus passes. Visit THIS LINK/DEB'S SITE to read all about what ticket options you have. Then visit www.ticketmania.com or www.floridaorlandotickets.com to check prices on tickets. I think ticketmania has the better prices, but I always leave choices when I'm trying to help out. :p You can also visit HOTWIRE as they have some good deals too on Disney tickets and meal vouchers. You have to join, but they have a 30 day trial membership where you pay nothing. Just join 30 days before your trip if your interested and get all your vouchers and tickets there.
Hope I've helped,
Denise  :sunny:

well to do it that way it comes out more expensive than going with the dreammaker package.....geesh..this stinks..i have no way around paying for things i am not going to use....

cyndibelle,

check with Liz@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com! My sister just got an early August deal with room only reservations and separate park hopper tickets that was cheaper than buying the Dreammaker pkg. I think she's staying 7 or 8 nights, too. No obligation to DU if you get a quote and don't like it, plus the service is free ... doesn't cost any more than booking through Disney.. if you do reserve through DU, Liz will help you with PS ressies and an itinerary, too. Just a thought!

I'm not sure why you're getting a higher price for room-only and 7day PHP vs booking a Dream Maker Package.

Rack rate for a moderate during early December (Value Season) is $133 per night plus tax (x8 nights = $1186.36)

Add your 7day PHPs (2 adult, 2 child) from Ticketmania for $1130.

Total = $2319.36

When I check the prices at Disney.com for early Dec, 8 nights, moderate resort, 2 adults, 2 children, I get the sum of:
$2525.40

You're still going to get those 4 "pluses" with your 7day PHPs but if you consider them to be "freebies", you're paying only $43 per park day per adult. That's still less than the $46 per day you would pay for an adult with a 5day PH purchased from Disney in advance and way less than what you would pay for the UPHs for 8 nights.

Maybe if you give us your numbers and where you're getting them from, we could help you find a lower price for your trip.

I've always found it less expensive to book the pieces on my own rather than a package. The first thing I do is go to mousesavers.com for discount codes on the rooms.

It will be less expensive to buy the 7 day parkhopper rather than the length of stay ultimate hopper. However, if you plan on returning within a year, the annual pass (with no extras) is not alot more and then you don't need to buy any passes next time.

Good luck,

Chris

ok i am going right off disney site....dec 3-11th....pop century preferred room....885.16..that is with insurance....then the 7 day park hopper plus tickets 2 adults 2 children. 1263.16..total.. 2148.32...am i doing something wrong??

Hi Cindibelle...Pop Dreammaker pkg Dec 3 -11 2 adults,2 kids...

$2,253.18

Room only Pop Century $886.56(tax included)
2 adult, 2 kids 7 day hopper...$1108(presale from disney)

Total $1994.56

2253.18 - 1994.56=$258.72 SAVINGS...

Hi,

I just went on the Disney site, too, to check your numbers out. I was able to get 686.88 at the Pop century for arrive dec. 3 and dept. Dec 11. The trick is to look in the box where they quote you the preferred room price and look for a link that says: "view/edit detail". If you click there, it will take you to another screen that if you scroll down, there is a window for you to choose: "room type." Switch from preferred to standard room and click Update. That should give you a better price! I hope.;) Kim

UPDATED NUMBERS...iluvtink taught me something about the new site...

Room only Dec 3-11 686.88 plus tax 75.56 = 762.44

762.44 + 1108.08 =1870.52

2253.18-1870.52= $382.66 SAVINGS

They don't make it easy on line to find the cheapest rooms! :teeth: I don't know if that price included insurance, either. That's why I have more faith in my TA at Dreams! ;)

The old site was so much easier to navagate I'm finding..

ok i dont know how i got the higher price for tickets..i was lookin at debs site....geesh........i gotta get under 2000..that is my goal....we really liked our preferred room the last time..........thanks guys..you guys are great ..crunching these numbers for me...:)

Hope to see you in about 271 days Cindibelle

yes ma am.....271....long long lonnnnnnngggggggg days left...sigh.......

I'm no expert on this but you could make 3 reservations.

1 for the 1st night, room only.
1 for the middle of the vacation where you use the Dream Maker package.
1 for the last night, room only

You need to request continuing reservations and you will need to check in/out with each one.

I read this on another web site and tried to use it for my trip but the numbers did not work out for me. It's always worth a call.

Ummm....taxes. Everyone forgets that the Disney website doesn't include the tax on the tickets until you checkout. Total for 2 adult & 2 child 7day PHPs will be $1180.08 plus delivery.

The other ticket brokers are almost always cheaper for PHPs that Disney. And some offer free shipping. Order from Ticketmania, Paramount or MapleLeaf and save somewhere in the range of $50 on your order.

Paramount is offering free Disney Quest passes with every 7-day PHP. Ticketmania offers free shipping. MapleLeaf has the lowest per-ticket price.

cyndibelle, keep in mind that the current rate for the room is the rack rate and can only go lower. The tickets, if purchased before any price increase, will not cost you anything more than $1130. You're at $1892.44 right now.
