how do you wash your dog?

Also in the oversized shower with the handheld sprayer!

It's a shower we don't use anyway (it's the bathroom with the kitty's litter box). After I bathe our dog, I let the shower dry out and then I vacuum up the fur (my current dog has very short fur so it's not a big issue, but a previous dog had long, luxurious fur and vacuuming was the only way to get it all!).

Our 8 pound 6 oz mini daschund gets baths in the kitchen sink.
And then dried off with a big fluffy towel. Not too spoiled!:goodvibes

Beau Gator the Bulldog gets to go to the "do your own" spot at Petco. I just cannot get that lazy, fat dog into the bathtub at home. However, if I say "Ride" the dog beats me to the car.

They have all the shampoo, towels, even the dryer! I walk him out, they clean up, and Beau Gator smells fresh...ahhhhh, nice.

That is, until he starts drooling. Bulldogs and drool...you can't get past it, but I love the fat dog anyway.:goodvibes

Nice! How much do they charge? We'd have to drive 30 miles to get to a Petco, but that wouldn't be a problem.

I also saw a dog wash next to a car wash in this one town -- it was so cool! They had this little glass-enclosed room with a sprayer and all the stuff you'd need to groom your dog. I haven't stopped to see their prices yet.

When it's warm enough I use the hose and give my dog a bath in the back yard. She hates water though so I put a leash on her and tie it to something that won't move. As soon as I'm done and let her go she runs right for the grass.

When it's cold I give her a bath in the bathtub. She's about 65 lbs and refuses to get in herself, so I have to lift her up and put her in. She will not stay in the tub if the curtain is open. Once the shower curtain is closed she won't jump out, so I get in the tub with her. She loves to shake so I usually end up soaking wet as well :headache:

In the tub. I use a cup to rinse them, but they pretty well rinsed just running back and forth since they're so short.

I'ld like to know how often everyone bathes their dogs. Two of mine get bathed twice a week and love it. The other one gets bathed weekly since he has dry skin and we use a special shampoo on him. All 3 sleep in someone's bed under the cover, so I want them to be clean.

That brought tears to my eyes. One of the last things I did with my late Harry(English Bulldog) was a trip to the Petco for the shower! He hated it. But I agree he smelled nice(hypoalergenic shampoo too!) for a little while.

Sophie(our french bulldog puppy) bathes in the baby bath tub!
Lola(Lab) we pay people to wash her. You get more of a bath than she does.

During the warmer months, I give my 100 pound golden retriever a bath outside using the hose. When it is cooler, he gets into the shower with me. It is so much easier than trying to get him in the tub and it is less of a mess. If shakes inside the shower no big deal to clean up.

We give Toby (our beagle) a shower in my parent's bathroom because it's a bigger shower. In our shower, you can barely turn around without knocking your elbows against the walls. We have to lead him in with a leash but once the water is on he's happy to oblige.

Here in Pittsburgh, it's $10, which is totally worth it to me, just so I don't have to clean up afterwards.:)

Beau has also been to one of the car/doggie washes when we visit our parents in South Carolina. I think it was about $6 there. Very cool concept.

Aww, I'm so sorry for your loss of Harry. Bullies sure know how to take hold of your heart and not let go.:guilty:

I have always wanted a Frenchie! A black one, named Captain Jack.
They are just so cute, and totally portable.;)

I wash the collies in the shower with a hand-held sprayer. I suit up in a bathing suit in order to do it b/c sometimes they shake and get water/suds everywhere.

Well, that didn't go so well. I got the water on and called the dog to the shower. He looked at me from the other side of the bathroom where he was trying to blend into the woodwork like I was nuts. :rolleyes1 So I went over and grabbed his collar and kind of half pulled/half dragged him into the shower. he got wet, I turned my back to get the shampoo and he ran out, knocking me into the shower stream in the process. So I was standing there soaking wet while the dog was shaking off all over tha bathroom. I called him and DH walked in, not knowing how wet the tile floor was and slipped and fell, nearly required the dispatch of paramedics. The dog continued to huddle in a corner until DH and I picked him up, carried him into the shower, and closed the door behind the dog and I. He then froze while I gave him a nice bath and rinsed him off. When I opened the door he ran out and proceeded to slip on the still soaked bathroom floor, sliding across the bathroom into DH--soaking him in the process. We finally got him and us dried off and the dog kept giving us the evil eye for the rest of the afternoon.

There's got to be an easier way...
