I have an oversized shower with a haldheld sprayer, and I'm actually thinking about doing it in there. How do you all wash your dog?

That was how I always washed my big dogs. For the dog we have now, in between groomings (Lhaso) I stick him in the tub and rinse him using a big cup.

Our lab likes to get in the tub when he thinks the bath is for one of us. So we pretend like nothing is going on. Once he's in the bathroom we close the door. We usually say to him. Go in your pool. He'll jump in and then we attack with the dog shampoo. We use the showerhead to wet him down and then to rinse him. He's pretty good in there. Once he's done he'll jump out and shake everywhere. He's about 65 pounds now so hopefully he'll continue to go in on his own.

When we had our last lab we used the shower stall in the other bathroom. He was too big to put in the tub because he really resisted.

Whenever Baxter gets kenneled we have them give him a bath before we pick him up.

We used to wash our old dog that way - in the tub with a hand held sprayer. But new dog (St. Bernard) is bigger, heavier, and hairier, so it's off to the groomer she goes!

This is how we do our Yorkie...eithr in the tub or the sink. He loves it :thumbsup2

Ours get done out on the deck with the hose, and finish drying off in the back yard (I like to minimize the wet dog smell in the house :rolleyes1 ). We have big older dogs 80+ lbs., so getting them in the tub these days is more hassle and risk than we want. In the winter if they need bathed I run them to the kennel and quite happily pay them to do it.

Beau Gator the Bulldog gets to go to the "do your own" spot at Petco. I just cannot get that lazy, fat dog into the bathtub at home. However, if I say "Ride" the dog beats me to the car.

They have all the shampoo, towels, even the dryer! I walk him out, they clean up, and Beau Gator smells fresh...ahhhhh, nice.

That is, until he starts drooling. Bulldogs and drool...you can't get past it, but I love the fat dog anyway.:goodvibes

DH is in charge of this one, but in the summertime, they get it with the hose outside. The lab loves it, the sheltie, well, not so much.

In the wintertime, the lab gets a shower in our upstairs bathroom, and the sheltie goes to the IL's and gets a bath in their laundry tub.

Our lab loves his shower, he will get into the bathtub upstairs and start digging like crazy, and he whines and looks up at the shower head, as if to say, "Please spray me, please". It's funny, but he has scratched the finish on the tub.

That's how I do it. We now have to lock out dog out of the room when taking a shower though because he tries to jump in the whole time. He loves his baths.

Lil (5 yr old Boston Terrier) will sit in the stationary tub in the basement while her "Daddy" puts about 8 inches of water in it. She get lathered up and rinsed using fresh water and a cup to help get everywhere rinsed well. She's towel dried and is pretty much "good to go". She doesn't seem to mind her bath at all.pug:

In the tub with a shower head on a hose. Our two dogs do not like the shower, during, but after they prance around like a little prince and princess. And then rub their ears on the carpet, even though we don't let any water in during the shower and wipe them on the inside with a towel after.

Mikeeee

get a good strainer for the drain though, and I add a good hair disolver drain cleaner twice a year just to be safe.

In the oversized shower with the handheld sprayer ;)

In the utility sink with a sprayer hose I attach for that purpose. She got a little bigger than we expected (25 pounds) and just barely fits. It is especially handy for a quick rinse of muddy paws. We just grab her before she comes in the door and carry her straight to the laundry room.

I use to have a 85 lb lab Jake. Miss him. But we couldn't get him into the bathroom. He would sit down on the floor and not move. So finally we took his leash and tie him to the deck so he couldn't escape. He would cry and whine like a sissy dog. Yet when we took him to our lake he would run right in.

The little one gets bathed in the tub, since she's easy to handle, and the bigger two have to be leashed to the garage door and hosed off in the driveway. :rotfl2:

During the summer, in the river out back.
During the winter, to the groomer.

I can't lift him into the tub (130lb Newfie), and he hates going in the tub (unless one of us is taking a bath - then he wants to come in too). Wierd for a dog that LOVES the water.
