how do you wash ties?

My dh's work ties are filthy - how can I wash them? they are a blend not the silk ones---but then while we're at it how do I wash the silk ones for when they get dirty?

I always send mine to the dry cleaners.

Never really heard of washing ties... but, the the ones that are not silk you might try throwing one in the gentle cycle then letting it air dry to see how it turns out.

The silk ones may need to be dry cleaned.

I hate sending my dh's ties to the dry cleaners because they iron them flat and they look terrible. We've tried mentioning it to the dry cleaners and they don't seem to be able to figure out what we're talking about. I'm starting to do a lot of spot cleaning and stuff on the blend ones and I've tried hand washing some of the silk ones (that hasn't turned out so well unfortunately, lol.) and my dh votes to throw them away when he gets them too dirty.
