Just back from the 8/2 Dream...

traveled with my aging in-laws...so we got to experience the cruise through their eyes somewhat...

some observations:

1. Had to show them how to work the bath/shower controls...as they puzzled everyone who first tried to use them.

2. while the carpets on the floor are beautiful, they can play tricks on aging eyes...often mistook patterns on the floor for steps.

3. While all the public bathrooms on board the Dream are works of art, some are like a funhouse...kind of hard to find your way back out...the doors match the walls.

:lmao:Kids and the elderly are great! I love experience new things with both!

So how do you turn on the shower?? We sailed the dream back in feb and I remember it took a little bit to get it figured out, especially the tub for the kids. I can understand that one!!

How was your 8/2 cruise? How was the boarding with the new terminal opening time? Also, how was the weather? With the TS Emily out there!!

They have signs all over the place. They need instructions near the tub/shower. It took me a few minutes to figure it out.

Noted no issues with the boarding time...we got there at 1000....were told to come back at 1100...we got there a few minutes before 1100...were assigned boarding group 5...I think we were onboard before noon. Our paperwork arrival time stated 1030 I think.

Weather was good with the exception of Saturday. We were at CC, Had to be back on board by 3PM due to deteriorating weather conditions. Day started off very nice...got windier throughout the day...waves were crashing over the breakwater. Riding the tram back to the ship, begin to pour rain...when we got out of the trees, were blasted by blowing rain/sand...was actually kind of fun! We were in our swimsuits so no big deal...other than the stinging rain.

While sitting at the CC dock, the "apparent wind across the deck" was a pretty steady 40 mph...we were able to leave in these conditions. Once under way, apparent wind speed was about 53 mph. Seas were not real rough though....but it was the first time on the whole cruise rocking of the ship was noticeable.
