How do you treat...

BAD BAD headaches...

All 3 of us had what seemed like a migraine (as far as we can tell it might be a virus, we didn't eat any of the same foods, do not get them often ect...)

My son got his first and his ended yesterday. I got mine next and I woke up feeling pretty good today (after it lasting for 2 days), my husband is going on day 3 and nothing is helping him... He has tried Excedrin Migraine, Tylenol, Aleve, Aleve Cold and Sinus.... You feel like you have to vomit, you have the chills then sweats, a low grade fever...

He's been sleeping appx 36 hours the past 3 days. He came home from work yesterday at 11am and has slept solid (waking a few times for meds and liquid) after sleeping from 8pm Friday, woke at 7am yesterday only to come home at 11am.

I am worried he will loose his job... they have a strict no missing work for any reason (including being ill) however he tried to drive in today and ended up pulling over and getting sick so he came home.

Why his virus is lasting longer then either of ours... I do not know. He said today the headache is getting no better... yesterday it was coming and going.
Of course yesterday he took meds, today he took Tylenol this morning and I finally convinced him to take 2 aleve here 30 minutes ago.

Had he got his FLU SHOT like he's suppose to (he is asthmatic and every year his doctor insists he get one... since we moved he didn't this year) he might not have gotten so sick.

My advice would be to take him to the doctor. There are plenty of stronger medications available which may be able to ease the pain.

just a thought, since you've each had headaches and DH has slept so much - is it possible Carbon Monoxide Poisoning? Have him go to the Dr., especially since it's gone on for a few days and OTC meds are reliveing the pain. Is he under more stress than usual? Hopefully nothing more serious than a migraine, but the Dr. cn prescribe a muscle relaxer to ease the pain. I

No insurance (working on it tho) and no family doctor here in Phoenix yet.
I think the aleve might be helping... I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy!

No I am fairly sure it is not CM poisoning. We have a detector in the house...

Plus both Joey and I had this for 2 days and we're both fine now. Getting out of the house did not help him. He isn't drugged out by any means...

My Stepmother just had this and her headaches were debilitating. She finally went and had an MRI and she had viral meningitis. (Not deadly like the spinal kind). Anyway, since it is viral - antibiotics won't help. So they just prescribed strong pain meds and told her to get plenty of rest. She was down for 2 and 1/2 weeks.

I pray this isn't what you all have. I was going to suggest Excedrin Migraine. That is what works for me, but I see you aleady tried it.

My DD gets headaches like that, she takes either Advil gelcaps (they work better then regular advil) or Aleve...

He said the Aleve is helping... it's now "coming and going" and isn't AS strong as it was.

I have a funny feeling he won't be going into work today. Problem is he gets dehydrated. Back in Alaska I had to take him to the ER b/c he was so dehydrated (seems like it was from something like this...). I keep ragging on him to drink the gatoraid and water...

This happened to us a few months ago... and also to a friend (who had not been to our house, but we'd been to hers). We haven't been to visit the friend in a while... sooooo I just do not know.
