We just received our Magic Bands by mail. I apologize if this is a stupid question but how do we travel with them? Do we take the whole box (there are 4 bands) or each of us wear ours? Will the airport scanner be ok with the bands? Should I just put the box in my carry on? Last year we had the bands waiting for us at the resort so that's why I'm asking. Again forgive my ignorance...:o TIA

I wore mine while traveling. You will have to take it off through security (or at least I did) but there were no issues with it :)

Travel with them just like a wristwatch - and yes you do need to take them off going through security. Ours will be going in my travel watch case.

I put ours in the front pouch of my carry on backpack without the box so they took up less space. No problems with them at security in the bag. I saw other people wearing theirs on our flight.

I just put mine in my carry-on (no box). At some point after I had arrived at MCO but before I got to the DME check in, I put it on.

I never put mine on until I'm in Orlando. I'd hate to lose it somewhere along the way.

Yes, but then I can't surprise my fiancé with the Cheshire cat I've put on hers. :)

I packed mine in our checked luggage stacked in a small Ziploc bag. Those boxes take far more room than I was willing to give them.

I took the whole box in one of my bags. I just like the box! :confused3 And when we were packing up, I put them back in the box to take them home. They're still in the box in a closet! I'm a sucker for good packaging. I take issue with plenty of things about the whole MDE/MagicBands/FP+ deal. But one thing they got right is that box!

We did not have to take them off for airport security, even for the full body scanners.

I take it out of the huge box and just put it in my backpack. I do not check my luggage, but if I did, I would never put it in my checked luggage in case my luggage got lost. (Which it has, twice, and once I never got it back, second time was on the way home and I got it back in a week.) I put it on when we get to Orlando since we use Magical Express and they scan your bands.

how about go to a jewelry store or somewhere they sell watches and see if they have an extra box to put one in. One for a men's watch should fit it.

Treat them like you would your tickets/Keys to the World. I just carried ours on. I didn't want to check them in case the luggage was lost. I could wear my clothes multiple times (or buy new ones), as long as I still get to go to Disney.

I've done this twice, had them in a quart size bag in our carry-on :thumbsup2

And done this, also didn't have to take them off going through security. I felt cool wearing mine on the plane :cool2:

My travel cases for men's watches is what I'm planning on using. They protect mine quite well when I travel with them, as I don't wear nice watches on an airplane since only my cheap-ish ones have dual time capability.

We've always worn them and never had to take them off going through security.

personally we wear ours.
they are fine to wear through security.

you can take the whole box if you want but do make sure that it is in your carry on and not your checked luggage since you'll need them to get on DME and upon arriving at your resort to open your room.

If you are utilizing DME, put them in your carry on, not checked bags. You will need them to get on DME.
