We got a WII for XMAS for this coming year so it has not been opened yet, we got it about 3 weeks ago. Buy a WII get a $20 target giftcard. If the price drops to $199 on 9/27 (the new rumor). Do you think target will give us the $199 price and then want the $20 gift card back? The gift card is gone we bought a WII accessory with it also that day. Back do you think they will just keep $20? Just curious.

I don't know how Target works, but if you purchase something at Kohls and they give you Kohls cash and you return something to drop you below the Kohls cash level, your return is valued less. Maybe they follow the same format? Not sure. Enjoy your Wii.

I purchased a Dyson last year that had a free gift card tied to it....and I do remember seeing somewhere that they would get the gift card/promotional item back if you returned it. Not sure how they'd do that if you already spent it though...unless they just deducted your refund by that much?

In the past if you return anything with a gift card promo either you have to return the gift card or the amount of the gift card is deducted from the refund.

Also you are too late for a price adjustment. You would have to do a full return, so $250-$20 is $230 and then buy it at $199. You would still be saving money so probably worth it.

I'm not certain of the limit on electronic returns but I'm pretty sure you have 30 days, it may be 90 like everything else. Check your receipt.

I know the last few times I have bought things that came with a gift card, they are grouped together and then the price of each item is reduced by a portion of hte gift card amount and it says "return value" next to or below them.

I buy lots of stuff that comes with GC at Target and I've always been told that the deal is that if I found a better priced item somewhere else and returned the item to Target I either had to return the unused GC with the item or the amount of the GC would be deducted from the price I received in refund. They would probably price match the price to $199 but only give you $30 in difference.

Also, when I bought the DSLite last month when it was $99 I asked about price matching if the price dropped below $99. They told me the store has a 30 day limit on price-matching so if the price does drop you won't get the lower price unless you do a return, But...

Be aware also when returning electronics items to Target that there is a 10% restocking fee (even if returning and rebuying for a lower price) so you'd be down the cost of the GC and the restocking fee of $25. Given the cost of your time and gas if the price drop is more than 30 days after your date of purchase you'd be better off not trying to get the $199 price.
