With February's area including the scrap space, I thought we could use a thread about how we store our various stuff. Talk about what we have tried, and what we want to find a better way to store.
What works for me:
Punches: I have a Crop in Style punch pal, which hangs over the door. It holds my punches, obviously, but I also used some of the pockets to hold my bags of beads.
Paper Scraps: I have my paper scraps in page protectors in binders. The page protectors I bought from OfficeMax, and the binders I had just hanging around. I have one for Bazzill, one for patterned paper, one for colors (ROY-G-BIV) and one for browns, gray scale, vellum. I need to put the Bazzill one in color order, and I want to redo the PP one so that all the scraps from "stacks" are together. I have gotten in the habit of pulling from the binder instead of a new sheet.
Eyelets, Brads: I have them in spice jars and in a spice rack.
What kind of works:
Sizzix: I have my dies in a rolling case. Which works for me as long as I don't need to go to a crop.
Ribbon: For Christmas I got a giant jar of pistachios. It still has pistachios in it, but once they are gone, I plan on putting my ribbons in it. Right now they are in a crate, making a mess.
Cardstock: They are currently standing vertically in a wire mesh basket. It's fine, only the basket is too long, and it's full so it makes moving it around a problem, so I am thinking about getting three shorter ones.
What doesn't work:
Those Sandylion sticker sheets and jolees. Up until now, I've had them in two drawers in a 7 drawer chest. However, it's a pain to sort through to find what I want, and the chest is in the closet and not near my scrap space. So I am looking for suggestions here.
Swap stuff: The answer is to USE THEM! But since I haven't gotten that far. First I had them in drawers in those 12 x 12 sterilite drawers. But it got to full. Then I took everything out of the baggies, so they would take up less space. But then I couldn't find anything. After the great shred of January, I ended up with 3 expandable files normally for bills, and I sorted them into there, but they are so big now that I worry that things are getting bent and crushed. And the Good/Evil swap never even made it in them, because I ran out of room.
