How do you start a letter to a celebrity?

I don't usually post on here but I'm hoping you'll take pity on me! I'm trying to write to some actors but I really don't know what to say to begin with. Any help would be most welcome.

You've come to the right place. I collect celebrity autographs and have written thousands of letters to the stars. I assume your goal is a response, and here's the best tip I can give you - keep your letter very brief. If your letter makes it into the hands of the celebrity, they don't want to spend forever reading a letter. They get way too much mail for that.

Also, be careful of where you're sending the letter to. Most stars do not accept fan mail at their home addresses. They prefer fan mail to go through an agent and be forwarded. There are exceptions to this rule though. Older celebrities who are, for lack of better words, "past their prime", will often accept fan mail at home and reply quickly. Writing to a hot, current star is a whole other ballgame. That's where it gets challenging.
