Hello, Hello,

My boyfriend and I are going in late September, early October, and I expect that we will have a fair amount of standing-in-line-time, though hopefully not anything too terribly long! I've been wondering how we could entertain ourselves while waiting.

What have you done, for yourself, and/or with your loved ones both big and small?

When I went ten years ago(!), my girlfriend and I are were so giddy from being at WDW, that we seemed to giggle our way through the lines.:p

The best way is to minimize your lineup and waiting times - reading a guidebook such as the Unoffical Guide to Disneyworld or Passporter might help with line avoidance strategy.

Use Fastpass

Maybe reading a book each or have your BF read Poetry to you;)

Thanks
Jason

gigling is good.
seriously there is plenty to do in line. Talk with your neigbors, look for hidden Mickeys, check out all the decor and most of all have fun.

We usually talk to the people standing around us, or people watch. Believe me, there are alot of things to see that you just wouldn't believe while you are standing in line at WDW!

Late September/early October? There probably won't be very long lines, except for MK on the weekends and waiting in line for a show or long ride to end...like Extraterrestrial. Any of the constant loading rides (Buzz lightyear or HM) will probably have only a 5 or 10 minute wait. At least that is what has happened with us in the past.

My family like to pack our bags or fanny packs with snacks and then we munch our way through the line. It also cuts down on how much money you will spend on food. Also if you know you are going to be in line for a while grab a mickey ice cream bar (my personal favorite way to pass the time!)

have fun!

We love bringing Disney trivia to play during our waits (which when we went last fall were not that much time at all!) If you have the Disney trivia game, bring some of the cards with you in a ziploc bag and bring them out whenever you have a moment. We also loved doing this waiting and on the bus, and waiting for our PS at a restraunt. It was also fun getting others around us involved as they seemed to pipe in when we did not know the answer! I also love just talking with others and getting a feeling of how their magical trip is going and of course one of my other favorites is to talk about the next trip that we will go on!

Have fun and be magical!

I agree with the other poster who said you shouldn't have much of a wait time, in the time period you are going. I always go at that time of year, and will not wait in any line that has a standby of greater than 20 mins. If there is such a ride, I will grab a fastpass, or hit it later in the day. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the minimal wait times :-)

I people watch, which is always fun - and pull the underwear out of my butt. Someone should invent Theme Park underwear or something. Maybe its from climbing in and out of all the rides but Damn..........

I use to bring a book in my backpack. But now I just avoid any long lines and use the fast pass for whatever I really want to do.

I have to agree, I went in early October and the lines were very short. But we usually just chat in line or talk to those around us while waiting.

My kids really hate it when I yell out "Who here is from out of town?" -- that and we pick out the most inappropriate footwear in line (without them knowing of course). We never really wait in line that long, usually we chat with those around us.

Maybe not something 2 adults want to do in line, but as a family we usually play "who am I?" You have to be someone or something from Disney and the others ask you questions to figure out who you are. Quite simple, we have a 4 year old with us.

M-A-S-S-A-G-E...My DH and I take turns giving each other massages!!!! I usually cheap out and he does most of them...but then I will take the kids on dumbo while he sits in the fantasyland bandstand area and cools off.

OH yeah we do the shoe thing too...and we try to see who has the funniest looking sunburn..got to love the up north people who haven't seen the sun in 8 months.... JK;) ;)

Yes - and we love it when you visit and attempt to drive during a snow storm! hehehe...JK! ;)

I love to watch little kids in line...they crack me up - except for the ones screaming their heads off.

But I agree with the other posters - I've heard there are minimal lines that time of year. My future hubby and I will be honeymooning down there the end of september/first week of october - so look for us with our wedding ears on! :)

Welcome to the Dis!! We enjoy chatting with the people around us. My oldest dd (21) decided that she would meet at least 6 new people a day and had a ball doing it.

My older daughter usually entertains us with would you questions. Would you rather have your body completely covered with hair or be completely bald? Would you rather have three arms or three legs? Oh well you get the idea. It starts some interesting discussions. Sometimes the people around us join it. They enjoy the Disney trivia thing too.

Now mostly people watch. Years a go when our kids were kids we probably sounded like a lot of other families in hour long lines in 100 degree temps, something like- No we can't go back to the hotel, we have only been on 3 rides, do you have any idea how much this costs, you will have a good time if it kills all of us, no the ride is not broken and so on..... .

Fastpass, read our Passporter, eat Mickey Bars, and tell big whopping lies to strangers. Works for us!:jester:
