How do you sleep the night before?

I am looking forward to the answers as well.
I do not sleep very well the night before either. I am usually up til 1 or so reading. :confused3

I've never tired them, but I know a lot of people swear by "PM" medications... (advil/tylenol)

We leave very early in the morning as well and I usually do it on an hour's worth of sleep. First I'm too excited to sleep, then I'm too worried I'll sleep through the alarm. Sorry, no suggestions, but.....

the night before every Disney trip, my DH and I play out that commercial that was popular several years ago...

Are you asleep? Nope, too excited. :rotfl:

I love that commercial!

I just don't sleep. I have really bad insomnia anyway and even with my medication if there's something on my mind too much, I just don't sleep. Plus if I take my meds and don't sleep I feel really sick in the morning.

The past 2 trips we've had a 7:30am flights out on Mondays, so I would get up Sunday about noon, be up all day packing and making sure I had everything I needed, be up all night Sunday into Monday, poking around the internet and reading and trying to let myself doze off but it never happened, get on the plane and MAYBE fall asleep for 15 minutes. Get into the resorts and have lunch, try to take a nap and fail at it, unpack and go to dinner, watch tv and try to sleep and not be able to, maybe fall asleep for 20 minutes during the night, get up and do a park and finally fall asleep Tuesday night. So in a nutshell, I'd essentially be up from Sunday at noon til Tuesday at about 10pm.

No sleep the night before, also too excited. Somehow able to make it through the 1st day traveling, unpacking, and playing. Can we say.....Adrenaline Rush! Sleep like a baby the first night though.

Good luck!

I always have trouble sleeping - the excitement keeps we awake better than Red Bull! There is something I totally love about that feeling, though. Warm milk can help. I also try staying up later the previous night, packing, etc., that way, I've got everything together AND I'm so tired that I can usually fall asleep (somewhat) more easily.

Since we drive to WDW and it is a 14 hour drive, we spend the day packing, then toss the kids in the car around 6pm (in their jammies) and get on the road. My husband and I take turns driving, usually in 3 hour shifts, all night long, while the kids sleep. We usually arrive at WDW around 8am, just in time to get checked in and head out to the parks.

Not much sleep, I usually done packing at 10 at night, not too bad. Then I am rethinking what I should of or have packed until 2. Then I get up at 4 or 6 to get out the door.

Drugs. I use benadryl or gravol. When I was having mild insomnia my doctor told me it was okayt to do this once in awhile.

Otherwise I would be a walking zombie the next day!

What are you talking about "the night before"? We are 29 days out, and I'm having trouble sleeping now. :lmao:

On our honeymoon trip, the day before we left was the wedding. I didn't sleep the night before the wedding, was out of bed at 7 the day of, I did a TON of running around and last-minute prep, got dressed, rushed to the church, ceremony, reception, didn't get back to the hotel (at the airport, hehe) until 2 am (flight was @ 6-ish) and I STILL couldn't sleep. Then of course once I get to WDW I have to run run run, hehe. I crashed at about 11 PM that night. I slept hard, and was out of bed at 5:00 ready to go!

Our last trip we spent the night before at my Father's house (he's closer to the airport). I didn't sleep a wink.

This time, I'm going to give Tylenol PM a try.

On our last trip I was a FREAK about making sure the kids and me and hubby went to bed around 8PM - knowing that we would be getting up at 4 for a 6AM flight. Well, I WATCHED my whole family sleep and listened to my hubby snore the ENTIRE night watching the clock...... 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2 and then I think I slept for like 20 mins to see 2:20, 3:00, 4:00 - Time to WAKE UP!!!!! I was so excited but so mad that I was the only one that didnt sleep at all!!!!:rotfl2: But I guess I was the one that planned the entire trip, and probably the one looking forward to it the most. :goodvibes

Can't wait for my next sleepless night ..... January 27th!

Looks like I'm not going to get any sleep before I leave then from what it sounds like!

If I take benadryl or tylenol pm, sometimes because I'm so excited they make me jittery which keeps me awake even longer. At least caffeine helps for the zombie-walk mode. :lmao:

That is me exactly. That first night I crash like nobodies business.

I could never take a sleep aide. I would be too paranoid I would sleep through the alarm. I check the clock about three times and hour already.

Oh I miss the days of Tylenol PM... I can't take it anymore because it makes my heartrate go wayyyyy up. I take the max dose of Ambien and still have trouble sleeping.
