It happens to me as well.

On the right side of the page is a number list of the pages. Right under that is another search button. Click advanced for a few more search options.

Try using Firefox with the Adblock extension, I never see any ads on this site or nearly any other.

The search functionality is fairly broken. But nearly any VBulletin forum has a search page at "www.sitename.com/search.php".
