Hey members, just wondering what tricks other members to to fund a trip to WDW. This is what I do.

1) Change Jar.
2) Put a % away into a USA account every pay.
3) Garage sale(eliminates junk s well).

What do you do?

I always have a WDW trip in the works. I make monthly Disney payments to get room paid off ASAP then I figure out how much the rest will cost and total that amount, divide how many months I have before departure, and deposit $ monthly into my USD acct. I have a USD visa too, and before we leave I transfer some of that to Visa, and take some cash.

Hey Sue, do you mean you put $$ aside in some account that equals the room stay? or you do actually pay WDW in some form?

I pay WDW. Even for room only, you can call to make payments, so I'm paid in full at least 2 mod before I arrive.

When I get to WDW I buy gift cards, one for dining and put on that how much the DDP would have cost, and another for suvies. So it's almost like having the DDP, just give the card for payment.

I did get the DDP for past Jan trip only because it was a good package ( S/P/D)
otherwise the past 2 years we've gone without. And even with a TS every day, spent less then DDP. I do get the refillable mug.

Ok this is going to sound silly but a tin can--I buy a dollar store piggy bank and put all my extra loonies and toonies in it--this is for spending money. You actually have to open the tin with a can opener, which keeps me from raiding it.Usually $150.00-$200.00.

I also have a VIP account with my credit union and have money automatically deducted off my pay cheque each pay $20.00 --covers my food and extras.$400.00 saved in a ten month time frame.

I usually buy my air ticket with income tax return or when I have a month with three pay periods instead of two.
I also use my petro Canada points to get a discount on my flight.

My room is covered by my DVC.
My DVC dues are covered by my credit union Christmas time fund.

Hugs Mel

We do the same thing. Loves those dollarama piggy banks! :thumbsup2 I give the kids one each too and they save up little bits here and there for their spending money at Disney.

I also have $75 per cheque going to Canada Savings Bonds, which I use for travel $$.

I had a lot of airmiles which I cashed in for Marlin Travel gift certificates and used towards our package.
