schools from out of state? area interested in is palm beach, Fl.

Do they give out their test scores and graduate rates somewhere like publics do? thanks any one.

Most religious schools do not publish their statistics, but they will normally give them to you if you ask for them individually. Are you asking about high schools or grade schools? (There is a difference because grade schools are normally under parish control, whereas high schools are most commonly under the control of either the diocese or a private religious order.)

The most common place to find published numbers on private schools, I find, is a local business magazine or newspaper, since they tend to be read religiously by the parental demographic that those schools are looking for. Try this list: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/hp/content/education/pbcpri_index.html

www.greatschools.com or net I forget which but this is where I did research for DD12 and got the test score info, etc. Then she shadowed at the schools and picked her favorite...

I was able to get private school scores from there and one paraochial school in PA. So yes I was able to...Maybe Fl is different?

If the school is accredited you can get some stats through that agency.

I'm sorry I can't remember which figures they give , it's been so long since I looked up our school.

which agency? thanks

As you are discovering, when looking at private schools because they are independent and can each give their own tests it makes it very difficult to do an apples to apples comparison (for those who are willing to release the information). But we all know test scores aren't the only important factor :) A place to look for possible options are the accrediting agencies, and then check with each school where you would like more information.

Some options are the National Association of Independent Schools (www.nais.org), the middle states association (www.middlestates.org), or if you are interested in Catholic schools - the archdiocese of palm beach (http://www.diocesepb.org/education/schools/index.htm). I'm sure there are others but that's off the top of my head to hopefully give you somewhere to start.
