How do you redeem 2fer tickets?

Do you ahve to exchange them at a ticketbooth? Or can you use them for entry at the gates?

When we had ours last year, we had the tickets with the barcodes on them, and went straight to the gate. They scanned it and went right in! You should not have to wait in line at the ticket booth for anything.
