if you have used the baby centres at WDW, what is your opinion of them.
I've heard they sell baby food and cans of ready mixed formula - is this priced alot higher than the grocery stores or is it still reasonably priced? is there more one in each park and are they easy to find? just wandering so i know whether i need to go laden with baby supplies or if it will be easier to get it in the park

As I recall (this is back in December), a medium sized jar of Gerber baby food was $1.29. Where I live in NC, that same jar goes for about half that. I would dedfinitely bring my own formula and diapers, but it made sense to just buy their babyfood rather than lugging it all. Still, we had some backup stuff just in case our babies didin't like what they had. Their stuff is pretty limited and there's no organic at all, if that's important.

The baby care centers were quiet and very clean and the staff was super friendly. We have twins and one of the young CMs even helped me wrangle them as they crawled around the room. I'm not sure if there's more than one in each park. We used the one right off Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. There's also one as you walk towards Camp Minnie Mickey in Animal Kingdom. Both were really easy to find.

My only complaint about the one at MK was that they would not let you in with a stroller which was a problem for me since I had my 3 year old asleep in the stroller and I needed to feed my infant and my husband was across the park with my older son. I didn't know that I wouldn't be allowed inside and they did not want to make any exceptions! Not fun when you have a hungry 3 month old!

If I recall I don't think any of them let you in with a stroller as I left mine parked next to other strollers outside the door.

Here is my take on the Baby Centers-I didn't have any children that were nursing so I didn't peek in the nursing rooms (I don't think):

MK-

Easy to find, centrally located (it is near the First Aid & the Crystal Palace).

I liked the decor too it made me feel like Mary Poppins was taking going to start singing.

There was a little kitchen area, there was a seating area with a TV, high chairs, I want to say books & some toys as well as a kiddie table & chairs.

There was also another room with about 10 give or take changing tables & attached to that was the nursing room & the bathroom which had 2 stalls in, possibly 3.

I liked this one alot.

Epcot

This was my favorite one. It was also easy to find & pretty much centrally located (between the worlds) but I wouldn't go rushing back there to change a baby if I was not in the area since it would most likely be a far walk.

They had a nice toy room with a table/chairs/TV for the kids to relax in.

They had men & women's bathrooms which were huge & clean.

There was the changing area & the kitchen area & off of that were 2 (maybe more, maybe only 1) nursing rooms.

We drank alot of water in here as they had the Poland Spring type water dispenser but it wasn't Poland Spring.

MGM

I was not impressed with this one. The last time I was in it was in 2001 & I didn't bother the last time. So if it has changed someone correct me.

It is small, too small. It is located in the Guest Relations building, literally a door off their main waiting area. There was no one in there to greet you which I thought sucked.

We were probably in there 5-10 min & saw no one come in.

When you walk in to the left is a little alcove to nurse & to the right is the small changing area/kitchen area. That was it.

AK

This one was also nice & we drank the water in here too since AK is hot!

The front room is huge & there is a bathroom or two right there, family type of bathroom. I want to say there is another room towards the front but I am not 100% sure.

Then in the back is the huge changing/kitchen area.

This one isn't centrally located & we hit it on the way to & from the Safari. It was fairly easy to find.

I never bought anything in there since it is over priced & since I am paying an arm & a leg to stay & play there why should Disney get any more of my money at inflated prices. If it were me, I'd bring stuff there/ship it down.

I think the baby centers are great & I wish they would have 2 in each park, well the bigger parks.

We used 3 while we were there last week. MK, EP and AK. Never used the one in MGM. I liked the one in AK best. I did check the price on formula since my baby was in the middle of a nursing strike. They only carry Carnation formulas. The can of powder was $20 and some change. The ready to feed cans (8oz I believe) were $3.25 or $3.85. I had to buy a bottle while there as I left the only one I had in the room that day by mistake and they sell the Gerber plain ones and it was $2.35. They also had baby food, pacis and some medicines like pepto, tylenol and the like. They also sell these type of things at the resorts, although they didnt sell the can of powder at POP, only the ready to feed. I didnt end up buying any as I had friends off property that got me some Similac at WalMart for a much better price. I didnt make a special trip to use them for nursing or changing, but if I was near one I definately used it. We did get water from the cooler each time we went in one also. I wasnt able to take a stroller in any of them either. The three we used always had someone there to welcome you when you came in and they were very helpful and friendly. I thought it was funny at the AK that they had a young boy working in the baby care center. Im sure he would have rather been staffing the EE or some other cool ride than helping a nursing mother or a mom wrangling a baby on the changing tables:rotfl:

We used the one in MK on our trip in Dec. and we were SO grateful that it was there! DD2.5 had been running a temp. and (of course) I had only brought a tiny bottle of motrin 'just in case.' We were able to purchase both motrin and tylenol there for approx. $6.50 a bottle each. I pay $5.50-$5.99 a bottle at home, so I was actually surprised that the prices weren't jacked up a little more!

We stopped in another time to change a stinky diaper since was closer and CLEANER than the bathrooms! Both visits, the staff was friendly and helpful.

We also stopped next door at the First Aid station to ask about the temp., and the nurses there were wonderful as well. Gave me info for the nearest clinic (if needed) and a pharmacy that delivers to the hotels.

I guess you don't think about them until you need them, but if you need them you sure are glad that they are there!
