How do you pronounce the name of this cheese?

Some friends served us a delicious cheese dip made with Jarlsberg. I have always thought it was pronounced with a "y" sound like yarls-berg. They pronounced it like the word "jar" just like it's spelled. I believe this to be a Swedish word and therefore the "y" sound. BTW, they served it with these flat preztel shaped chips with garlic on them and it was yummy(with the "y" sound)

It is pronounced with the Y sound.
