How do you "prepare" to weigh in?

To what sometimes silly extremes will you go to try to give yourself an edge before the moment of truth when you step on the scales?

Even though by brain tells me that these things can't make more than a teeny difference, I always strive to wear the lightest weight clothing I can find on weigh in mornings- no long pants, ever!

Sports bra instead of an underwire (I'm sure that must make a fraction of an ounce of difference!)

Minimal jewelry- no bracelets, and take off the watch. ( It's not like I have a lot of rapper-worthy heavy gold chains. I'm not sure what I think this will accomplish.)

I don't eat breakfast before weigh in. (I'll munch on a Nutrigrain bar and drink my water in the meeting room after I hit the scales.)

I always try to be especially good about drinking my water the day or two before weigh in.

*Always* potty right before stepping on the scales.

Haircut- I imagine myself much lighter right after I've had a good trim!

No shoes!!! We're allowed to take them off to weigh in, thank goodness!

I wonder if I should also start shaving my legs on weigh in morning? :p

LOL Kathy...Definitely NO BLING BLING!!! It will really weigh you down...LOL. Shave your legs FOR SURE...Swimmers do it for less friction...what could it hurt?

You know my old favorite..GIVE BLOOD...of course this won't work first thing in the AM...but if you go in the afternoon..it might payoff.

Seriously though...I think the best thing to do is to DRINK water a few days before to really bust the Bloat Fairies bubble!!

I wake up, use the bathroom and go downstairs barefoot, wearing my nightgown. Not a very exciting ceremony, huh?

I wake up, go potty and weigh in. Just undies and a tank top for me and I try not to wake up sleeping DF by getting on and off the scale a couple times to double check the numbers. He sleeps on the side of the bed right by the bathroom so I try not to even turn on the light unless its really dark still.

Well Kathy you proabley can't use my trick being you have to weight in outside your home. I jump up potty and walk around a few minutes like 5 or so if my joints are all stiff and sore esp. just makes me feel better. Then i go to my laundry room strip "almost" naked exception of the underpants and hop on the scales. I have'nt thought about jewerly hmmmm. I may "need" those oz's to make a difference in a clippee one of this days i'll keep that in mind. I like to eat seafood two days before weight in. I have a pattern of a nice loss when i can do this. Also i limit my sugar and sweet snacks on the weekend (weight in is sunday's for me) that seems to make a nice difference along with a boat load of water all weekend.

LOL, what a funny thread! I wear the same thing to my weekly WW WI's (they're clean, LOL). I think it may be of more a good luck thing than anything, but they're usually light clothes. When it's cold I wear the lightest clothes I can without freezing my buns off! I also shave and I make sure all the change and paper is out of my pockets, too. ;-)

I think I have tried all of these except I'll have to try the seafood thing a couple days before weigh in. That might help. I need to get off the sugar when I go to mil's for sunday dinner, but they usually stress me out and that's when I can't leave it alone, no matter how full I am or how much water I drink. Disgusting I know.

I jump out of bed, hit the potty and then strip down to my undies. Wow, what a frightening image!

Before I step on the scale I always have to press down on it with my hands a few times to make sure the 0 is lined up right with the little line. ;) Corny, I know, but I ALWAYS so that! It's become a ritual!

I strip down COMPLETELY! I want that 10 lb. clippie and nothing :p is going to hold me back! Every ounce counts.;)
Oh, by the way I weigh in at home. Ha Ha Ha

So funny!!! I think since I have been weighing in at home it has changed!!! hop out of bed then for a "clothing optional" WI In the bathroom!!!!

Ok, I am fanatical about this, and I want no one to laugh at me...ok, laugh because it really is crazy.

I wake up, use the potty. I wait about another 1/2 just in case I need to go again ;) Then since I weigh at home, I go through this ritual. First I brush my hair, brush my teeth, go potty again. Then I get nakid...before I step on the scale I make sure to exhale as much as possible. Then if I have gone up, I kick the scale and blame it on the batteries needing to be changed :teeth:

I am nuts aren't I?

Glo, every bit of exercise helps!!! Kick away!:p

Yeah, you're nuts. But that's part of why we love you!

Years back I when I went to the WW meetings I used to wear the same clothes and shoes every week, the folks at the meeting must have thought I didn't own anything else. :)

Now that I am doing WW at home the only prep is going potty and stripping off all the clothes first thing when I get out of bed.
